I agree about popups and executables (what an absolutely moronic decision to include that crap in browsers), but all the JavaScript BS and "please let us track you" cookie banners in modern websites is a thousand times worse than any use of
Its strange to me that there are so many high budget open world games that fall within the assassin's creed / far cry / GTA triangle and yet it seems like nobody tried to copy the Bethesda open world formula given the enormous popularity of Skyrim.
Yes, thermal mass only serves to even out fluctuations in temperature. If the outside environment swings between hot and cold then a building with high thermal mass will tend to have a temperature in the middle of those two extremes. Like how a heavier ship is tossed about on the waves much less than a small boat.
But if a place is consistently hot or cold for a long time thermal mass doesn't really do anything. At most you can use it as a battery, so you can, for example, run a heat pump while electricity is the cheapest and use the thermal mass to maintain the temperature you established over the costly period.
So many people think that its a substitute for insulation though, which slows down the rate of heat transfer in or out, and does actually let you use less energy to maintain a given temperature.
Also it gets way too much attention as is IMO. Its the only hobby OS project people know about, purely because 4chan turned its mentally ill creator into a meme.
IMO this is kinda one of the problems with DnD 5e, at least if you want to do certain kinds of stories.
The players just have so many tools at their disposal to do anything and everything that its hard to put them into a challenging situation that:
A) Doesn't involve combat
and
B) Isn't a completely artificial-feeling scenario that's been engineered specifically to negate all of the "I don't have to care about this" buttons that players have on their sheets.
I'm sure it makes the bean counters happier to have another asset valued at X amount, but in practice the software will just be locked in some vault where it won't do anyone any good.
Its an instance where the number on the screen doesn't actually correspond to any useful economic activity.
Support for this feature would lessen the need for such players though, and anything that lessens the amount of JavaScript in the world is an objective moral good.
You might like ADACA. Its got two campaigns, one inspired by Half Life 1/2 and early Halo and the other inspired by STALKER.
Its one of the few games that I would consider to actually be Half-Life 2 -like in the same way that so many indie shooters now are Quake, DOOM, or Build-engine -like.
The only unfortunate thing about it is that its from the era where 3D indie games had no textures (think SUPERHOT almost, but not as extreme), but you can eventually get used to that and look past it.
I think that was the patch I ended up using my first playthrough (I'm away from my computer at the moment or else I'd check), but I might want to use something else my second time.
She was jealous of them? I had assumed she had an allergy, or just couldn't tolerate being around animals for whatever reason.
That's not even choosing between her and the cats, that's just choosing not to date a person who just told you they're psycho.
