Did they had to pay interests or penalties? I work in insurance in Brazil, and here the insurance company has to pay 30 days after it received the documentation for the claim, if they don't pay they have to pay 1% interest rate monthly and monetary correction (inflation). Sometimes we just pay even suspecting fraud because the risk of losing a long judicial process is not worth.
In my experience being audited as an actuarie by the big 4 (in Brazil), KPMG is the best, love their work, Delloite is ok, no complaints, EY and PWC are fucking clowns that have no idea what are they doing, literally had to teach them how claims develops and that claims that are paid on the same month they're open didn't generate reserves and wouldn't be found on the reserves database.
In my pass job I was a business intelligence analysist in an insurance company, and my boss came to me and told me to take my computer and go to some conference room. There was one of the managers of legal affairs and she ask me to do look up something on the database, pretty regular job that is usually a ticket but ok, so I did her queries when suddenly they went a direction they don't normally go and asked me to join the table with the employees database and do a pivot table for employee and count of lines and there was this lady with like 95% of the count, the manager asked me to send her that table and told me that she already knew it was her, but needed the evidence to HR. One week later the lady was fired and I still feel uncomfortable about that. Later I read some essay about abstraction, and how upper you go on the corporate chain, people gradually stop being humans to be just numbers, but for me, that day, my work had a name and a direct consequence that I can't abstract from.
First time I hear about that, meanwhile even my wife that is normiecore saw guides on how to use chatgpt to generate images on Instagram and asked me to install chatgpt in her phone.
My wife wanted to join the trend but chatgpt was like:
I wasn't able to generate the image because the request didn't follow our content policy. Let me know if you'd like me to adjust the request or create something different!
I had to teach my zoomer intern how to use alt+tab and that you can just keep ctrl pressed and then just press the other key, they didn't need to be pressed on the exact instant to work.
I won a full paid interchange scholarship to the University of Winnipeg, to start classes on the second half of 2020. It was sadly "postponed" for the pandemic, and I could choose to wait until everything came back to normal but had to pause my studies at home, or give it up and continue with my life. I have a little vacuum on my heart, for the time I couldn't live there and every time someone talks about Winnipeg I felt sad 😞
Maybe they hit him with one and that why he's so stupid.
