Lemmy, I love reading the comments and seeing cool insights and learning new things every day
LinkedIn, just scrolling through game dev news and laughing at the insanity of corporate LinkedIn
Discord, I manage a few communities so I need to check in regularly to ensure no spam or troll got through the automated filters. Also to chat with the friends I made on the platform since first using it (2016)
I do have a Bluesky account but the microblogging stuff just isn't for me. I like nuance and being able to have all the facts laid out. A conversation, if you will.
My twitter and facebook accounts have been disabled / removed for a while
People post jokes, and then someone else shares it thinking it's real. At least that's what I think happens most of the time when faked stuff is presented as real
But I agree (in hindsight) it's not very good. The Sonic/Shadow levels were the only fun ones, and you forgot to mention the Tails/Eggman levels are constantly grating because of that damned weapon beeping.
Also the sound mixing was terrible, couldn't even hear the voice acting over the loud music. It used to crash often as well, but it could be that I just had a faulty disc so let's not count that one.
I think the only thing that kept me playing was the Chao Garden, and replaying the levels that were at least some bit of fun to grind those materials.
I'm fine with it on social media, but on websites, articles, research papers etc I see it as a lack of quality control. It's very easy to fix too, just hit ctrl+F and type space twice to find any.
Patient gamers do not face a lot of disadvantages, but they do include (artificial) scarcity, waning official support and facing old-ass design choices that might not look very favourable anymore.
My problem with this is that once the game is 100% complete, do I want to still play just to see a different cosmetic?
I don't really see this as an issue, but as a choice. Back in the day, games lasted a lot longer. Hell yes we wanted to play as Metal Sonic. The next best thing we had was replaying the game as just Sonic.
This will probably not get as much attention as other FFF's, but I absolute love how they are determined to optimise the quality of life across the globe.
I dont care what you say in your review, but if you clock 8000 hours in a game I'm pretty sure you liked it enough to keep playing, or you're actually just addicted and need to seek help.
Idk how to feel about Jerusalem Post links. I was going to comment about how the article is devoid of any details, and then I read the last line: they use GenAI to help write their articles.
