  • Revenge rhetoric. It seems to me that there is zero practical way of crushing Hamas. It's not like they wear Hamas uniforms or carry Hamas membership cards. In fact, there's no guarantee that key Hamas leaders are even still in Gaza right now, as they could have easily fled the area. To make matters worse, the members of Hamas who are still in Gaza are likely to be in plain clothes and fighting with guerilla tactics in a familiar and dense urban environment, it'll be a bloody fight and many Palestinians will wind up getting caught in the crossfire. It's also very likely that we start seeing broadcast Hamas executions of Israeli hostages, which will only increase hostility.

The situation in Israel and Palestine is already awful, but I imagine it's going to rapidly become much worse over coming days. I feel so sorry for the innocent people on both sides of this conflict whose lives are being ruined for literally nothing.

  • You are falling for atrocity propaganda

And on what authority can you say what did or did not happen? Were you there?

I have zero credibility to say what actually happened, and neither do you.

But you are now asking people to disbelieve their own eyes and ears, because it's 2023 and (un)fortunately many of these atrocities have been caught on camera. Most of it's on tape my man.

    Palestinian freedom fighters

Nobody was fighting for Palestinian freedom in this weekend's terrorist attack. You don't win your freedom by indiscriminately massacring innocent civilians. Anybody with more than two neurons can see that Palestine is worse off today than it was a week ago thanks to the actions of Hamas terrorists.

  • The only way one side is voting for the other's nominee is if they get a deal with some real concessions. I don't see it happening.

  • I'm dehumanizing how? By plainly and literally describing what over the weekend happened in an objective fashion?

indiscriminate (adj) - done at random or without careful judgment.

rampage (n) - violent or excited behavior that is reckless, uncontrolled, or destructive.

You clearly don't have a leg to stand on here. Time to move on, go talk into a shoebox or something.

  • Did you read the page you listed? Do you understand the history you're citing? Do you understand how these IRA bombings were completely different than the rampage Hamas did over the weekend?

The answer to all of those questions is a resounding "no".

5 August 1969 - RTÉ Studio bombing: The Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) detonated a bomb at Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) headquarters in Donnybrook, Dublin, Republic of Ireland, causing significant damage.[2]

In your first shitty example, the British loyalist UVF from Northern Ireland bombed an Irish radio station. Nobody was injured.

11 August – 1970 Crossmaglen bombing: Two Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) officers were killed by a booby-trap car bomb exploded in Crossmaglen, County Armagh. They were the first RUC victims of the IRA.[3]

In your next bad example, the IRA bombed the northern Irish "police", who were literally an active part in the oppression campaign and should not be considered innocent civilians.

I mean, should I go on?

The IRA unfortunately did kill innocent people and even children at points during the troubles, but they never did so intentionally or indiscriminately going on a rampage like we just saw Hamas do. As bad as the war and the troubles were the IRA never did anything even remotely analogous to what Hamas just did. What's more, the British occupation killed far more Irish than the Irish ever killed Brits, fyi.

You should learn about history before you try to cite it, especially as a justification for today's atrocities.

  • Did I say that? Or do you simply not understand the definition of the words "indiscriminately" and "rampage"?

  • I'm Irish, and I can tell you that my people fought a violent and bloody revolution against the strongest empire in the world, and they did so without going on a rampage of indiscriminately killing innocent civilians, women, children and family pets.

You can support rights and sovereignty for Palestine without justifying the evil terrorists actions of Hamas over the weekend. If anything Hamas has now done more damage to the Palestinian cause than anything in history.

  • If you're a lifelong Palestinian advocate, as this women was, it makes a lot of sense to live near the Gaza border.

What doesn't make much sense is someone like her being killed by an indiscriminate Hamas terrorist attack...

  • nowhere in the article does it state that they were specifically targeted.

Basically nobody was specifically targeted. Hamas simply flooded in and started raping, murdering, destroying and taking hostages indiscriminately. People from various countries and religions, old women, children and babies, even pro-Palestinians advocates like these people. It was straight up terrorist madness, and now innocent people in Palestine are suffering as a result. A textbook cycle of violence.

  • It's a common misconception that Israel and Palestine were created post WW2 but the roots go all the way back to turn of the 20th century. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MandateforPalestine

People like to blame America for all things, but this region has been under conflict and conquest for literally thousands of years. It was controlled at points by Egypt, Babylon, Assyrians and Persia, In biblical times it was essentially tribal (Israelites, canaanites, samaratins, philistines who were in conflict with israelites...) until the Roman Empire took over. Then Rome broke up into two and it become part of the (Eastern Roman) Byzantine Empire, then after Muhammad's death it was conquered by the Muslim Caliphate, then taken under control of the Ottoman (Turkish) Empire. Religiously it has been Jewish, Christian and Muslim and I think has historical significance to all 3. I'm sure I've left a bunch of stuff out because I'm no historian.

It's one of the most complicated and protracted conflicts in history, and the people who want to make this out to be simple are either plain dumb or have some kind of alterior motive.

  • lmao, the GOP is a perpetual circus.

  • Looks pretty awesome though! I'd love a shell swap but I'm really scared that I'll fuck up my screen or something.

  • McCarthy called Gaetz's bluff and now Gaetz doesn't want to back down for fear of looking weak.

I'm just happy to watch these traitorous little monkeys sling shit at each other.

  • I don't find it weird at all. Cannabis is less harmful, less addictive, and subjectively, I find it way more fun.

Tobacco (nicotine) is hyper addictive to the point where people gradually get chemically compelled to smoke just about all the time. Arguably maybe caffeine is similarly compelling (I certainly drink caffeine all day), but most people consider caffeine to be pretty benign. Cigarettes are one of the hardest soft drugs to quit.

The long-term health effects of cannabis probably need to be studied more, but prohibition has actually made it harder to do just that. Now that the laws around weed have relaxed a little bit, it'll be much easier for people to legitimately do the scientific studies needed to show how cannabis affects the human body, how it affects the mind and mood, how additive it is compared to other common drugs, how it is typically used, and what effects legalization has on society compared to decades of criminalization.

The thing that I find truly weird, and actually pretty upsetting, is that I can stop by one of the many dispensaries around here and pick up weed flower or a 10-pack of cannabis gummies for like 15 bucks, but in other parts of the country there are people sitting in jail for less.
