  • Gross. I’m expecting Drop to go downhill from here (they arguably did somewhat already in the Massdrop to Drop transition) and to see Corsair gamer puke advertised on their front page..

  • For iOS there is the Orion Browser. Its a privacy based fork of Safari for iOS and macOS, with built in ad-block, anti-fingerprinting, and supports background and PiP youtube. I use it as my default browser on iOS and Mac.

Its built on webkit, just like Firefox on iOS, but supports both Firefox and Chrome extensions. And their CEO isn’t a crypto shill or anti-lgbtq.

  • If you just want a decent cheap one. I’ve had the linked one for close to 2 years as my daily home then work keyboard wrist rest. I have it paired to a GK64 and its 1:1 in width and looks just as good as when I bought it. There’s good wide rubber feet on it as well.

  • Up until recently, and still applies to many, chromebooks had a rather short shelf life before “expiring”. You could buy a new Chrombook with like 2 or less years of support before it became e-waste. Like wouldn’t even support video streaming and no security updates.

Even on previous macOS versions they still receive security updates for a while as does Windows. Plus the lifespan is rather large with a 5-6yo intel Macbook receiving the upcoming OS release later this year.

Its not just a $199 vs $1999 laptop issue, its an ecosystem issue as well.

  • I've gotten chinese clone keycaps from Amazon, they're fine as long as you get like doubleshot and read reviews.

If you've got the money to spare or find a deal (like myself and a friend split a buy 1 get 1 free deal) check out Drop.com. A decent selection of high quality keycaps and imo are such a comfortable profile (MT3) but if you prefer a more conventional cherry profile, they carry those as well.

My daily driver at home has Drop X Noctua MT3 keycaps from drop and my work keyboard currently has some XDA Botanical clones from Amazon. Both are good, the Drop keys are better though.
