Id bet Mark Zuckerberg has mental illness. Having the level of wealth that he has makes connecting with common people nigh impossible and leaves his pool of potential friends limited a handful of people who themselves focus on hoarding wealth that they don’t even have any real use for.

I don't think you can truly become a billionaire without having some sort of problems. That amount of money is so unfathomably large you can't achieve it without exploitation on some level or another. Obviously people might use and abuse one another unintentionally, but when you've done so economically to the degree of earning billions?

Does the metaverse even exist? Like is it a thing people use?

I'd like out of this nightclub. Maybe move to a different, more pleasant nightclub.

Yeah! I wonder if it's because of the prevalence of English media here in Sweden. We unlike the Germans don't really do much dubbing unless the target audience is children/families.

I don't know about German, but in Swedish it looks really messy if you sunder your compound words. In general I think people know what you mean regardless, but you can end up with peculiar double meanings. There are plenty of signs, notes, and what have you that people have posted online for a laugh.

Off the top of my head

• Gå lättpackad i fjällen
  • Travel lightly (as in luggage) in the mountains
• Gå lätt packad i fjällen
  • Travel slightly intoxicated in the mountains
• Sjukgymnast
  • Physiotherapist
• Sjuk gymnast
  • Diseased/Sick gymnast
  • Addendum. Sjuk could also be used as an emphasizer just like in English. Think "bro that's a sick outfit" kind of thing, so it could be read as "awesome gymnast"
• Årets sista svenskodlade tulpaner
  • The last Swedish-grown tulips of the year
• Årets sista svensk odlade tulpaner
  • The last Swede of the year cultivated tulips

It's also worth noting that the tones can be different, so if you "hear" the words as you read them, then "lättpackad" and "lätt packad" sounds different.

I live in a small town, there’s not a lot of people about, and I don’t really go anywhere with public transit. I still mask up daily for my walkies with my dog. I haven’t gotten sick all year, and my overall respiratory health is better.

Don’t think I’ll stop masking anytime soon. I enjoy it.

I paid for the 4 screen 4k subscription for Netflix for ages, one of the reasons being that I could share my account with a good friend who was a student.

Then they decided to dictate who I can share with despite the fact that I’m paying for the ability to view on four screens simultaneously.

Now on the rare occasions I want to watch anything I find alternative ways.

LLMs enable potentially better answers and summaries. There’s also potential for massive failures, like it reporting that your mother attempted suicide when she was really just talking about how something exhausted her.

Yeah, I almost burned out a couple years back and the causes were way more complicated than just getting the right work assigned.

I’d cut ties with my abusive mother. I was saddled with debt from living with her. My economy wasn’t quite working out. I was falling behind on work. Caught Covid, which screwed with my heart so my health deteriorated really rapidly. I wasn’t given the opportunity to work from home and the sum of it all just wore me down.

I really hated all the moaning about people calling out that both are shitty options. The Overton window is so far to the right. Like, yeah Harris is clearly the better option but neither represent any positive moves forward.

I rather like the wide berth people give me even though it doesn’t make much sense. Like, anyone could have Covid, but if I had it and I wear a respirator I’ll be less dangerous than someone who has it and doesn’t wear one. I get that people equate respirators with spooky but that’s just because they haven’t thought about it.

Thinking back on it, there was a single dude that spoke to me randomly. I think it might have been because of the mask but I’ve genuinely no idea, I always wear ANC headphones and ignore people. It helps my anxiety a lot.

Sadly, the people that will really appreciate you using a respirator are those you generally don’t see out and about because they can’t be, it isn’t safe for them.

I also mask. People don’t generally talk about it here, and masking wasn’t even very common back when the pandemic was taken more seriously.

Never faced any aggression but people do give you a wide berth which is kind of hilarious to me, but it doesn’t bother me at all.

I feel like this is always the case for anyone with any sort of notoriety from the 1900s or before. If they were alive they were most likely racist Nazis.

That should be preventing dark mode out of the box. Is it not?
