  • I’m not implying anything. I’m outright saying that the US government is corrupt enough to take kickbacks by corporations for political favors. I’m also saying Zuck didn’t bribe Trump’s admin enough (i.e. donations to his inaugural fund) to get away with their bullshit.

  • That’s why you bring on other mods to help.

  • Days? No. Try years, if ever. I’m still getting recommendations of kids songs from years ago when I let my kids use my account.

  • This whole post is an uncle joke, and yet mine was the only removed. 😡

    Welcome to Reddit 2.0.

  • Those conservatives love their daily dose of D; whether it’s orally or topically, they can’t get enough.

  • Hell no! My ass going to Spotify to play it right meow.

  • It’s not as black and white as that; I pity people like her. They have been lied to their entire lives; first by their parents, then by other supposed trusted adults (like priests or whatever their cult calls their leaders these days), and finally by Big Brother. So to some extent, they too are victims¥.

¥ There are limits of course to my pity.

They have had more than enough time and access to national and world news to have figured it out in their own. The real news will be what these people - and people in similar situations - do going forward with their newfound cognitive dissonance.

  • The only crime he committed was not bribing the Trump administration enough to stay off the anti-trust radar. I hope they burn it all to the ground.

  • They’re not looking at these situations at all. They’re ignoring them. Their only care is that abortion is abolished.

    As a Christian….

…she figured that if a woman really needed one, she could get it.

Ignorance is bliss; until it’s not.

  • You’re right that we live in unprecedented times, but judges are there to uphold the rule of law, as set forth by congress. But they are also well within their rights to push back against unconstitutional laws. This situation qualifies as unconstitutional.

  • Based on her inspection of his birth certificate and Social Security card, Riggans said she found no probable cause for the charge. However, the state prosecutor insisted the court lacked jurisdiction over Lopez-Gomez’s release because U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had formally asked the jail to hold him.

“This court does not have any jurisdiction other than what I’ve already done,” Riggans said.

Riggans said she was very sorry as Lopez-Gomez’s mother left.

This is such bullshit. The judge is just as guilty of this racist bullshit as is ICE and anybody else willing to roll over to suck Trump’s tiny dick.

  • Distribution, decentralization… those ideas only serve to add unnecessary complexity to a sensitive and critical infrastructure. Instead of tweeting the baby with the bathwater, let’s work toward making these institutions not rely on or be beholden to governments. Anything else is a poor man’s Band-Aid to the problem.

FWIW, I agree with your concerns, but not the proposed solutions. Regardless, these are the types of discussions we all should be having for our critical infrastructure.

  • Decentralizing a foundation such as CVE would do more harm than good. For things like git or the fediverse it makes perfect sense, but the last thing I want something like the CVE to be is fragmented. We need a single source of truth for this.

Now setting up a non-profit foundation and cutting dependence with governments is a good thing, but it’s not the same as decentralized.
