  • I kind of understand where they are coming from, though. They are accusing the company of not adjusting their projected earnings in the face of a clear negative outlook.

EDIT: The company delivered earnings projections before his death, and then after it they publicly stated their earnings projections would not change. They are accused of not disclosing clear risks to earnings by saying nothing will change.

  • Not only did these assholes vote for exactly what is happening to them, because they are so damn self centered they couldn't possibly imagine someone wanting to hurt THEM, but they refuse to acknowledge the reason their son was taken by ICE is because he is a criminal. They raised a criminal and didn't get him naturalized as a citizen. This is as much their fault as Trump's.

  • Yeah, that's a weird bit of writing. It's completely unnecessary information that adds nothing to the sentence. I don't know if it's the case, but this is like a micro-aggression where the author felt the need to add more info about the man instead of the woman.

  • The fact he was only wounded is not irrelevant. Do you honestly think it is as easy to shoot someone driving away versus someone standing still trying to get a gun out of wherever they might have it? Do you think it is as easy to pull a gun and try to shoot someone who already has their gun out and is trying to shoot you? And the fact that someone is trying to shoot you does not necessarily mean they are going to succeed, but the actions you take will make it more or less likely they succeed. Your actions will also make it more or less likely the success is fatal.

I never said, "don't have a gun." I said trying to use that gun in this situation would have likely made things worse. Hell, even if he had a gun and was smart enough to not try shooting back, then the homeowner could have VERY EASILY claimed the driver pulled the gun first and was trying to rob him. Or even if he killed the homeowner before he could lie about what happened, unless there is cam footage then what evidence is there that the homeowner, who has the right to defend their property, started shooting first? Best case is the person is in an extended legal battle and is facing a police force that loves killing innocent people who happen to have guns on them.

  • This driver was shot from behind while trying to drive away. Had he stood his ground to try shooting back, he likely would have been killed instead of just getting getting wounded. Even if he weren't killed, then he might have killed the guy who shot first... and up with a lifetime of depression and guilt and possibly on trial for murder, costing him thousands in lawyer costs.

  • You completely missed the point. Just because China often violates IP doesn't necessarily mean they did in this case. MANY MANY things are made in China by Western companies. Home Depot and Harbor Freight design tools in-house and have them made in China. Just because a factory worker in China recognizes a tool sold by Home Depot doesn't mean the design was stolen.

  • From the photo it looks to me like there is some material being pushed out the front from the back, so unless you know of a way that a high speed bullet moving toward a metal sheet would pull material backward as it moves forward then it would be hard for it be shot from the front.

  • Part of it is the holes are fairly uniform, but the big tell is no "flaps" poking outward. A drill removes material as it drills, so only a little is left over to flap out when the drill pokes through. A bullet would have to push ALL of the material from the hole outward, which would be a lot of material for a one inch thick hole.
