  • I have a Pixel 8 pro (with stock OS) and use Shelter to isolate my work apps. I have not had any issues. Super nice being able to just pause the whole suite of apps when I'm on PTO / away and don't want to be bothered.

  • Well, in all fairness all food prices have gone up, and 4 of us cannot eat for $40 at a non fast food joint.

I am not surprised the service outside the US is better where labor laws are likely also better.

  • Not that I was there to begin with, but they 100% will push my parents out of there as they do not want to deal with them. I would think their primary long term customers were boomers, and they're gonna reject Kiosks.

  • Ya, same. I think I may have gotten a burger one time when I took my kid (now 14) in there for some ice cream 7-8 years ago. Then unfortunately twice this year. But I'm going to go back to normal of actively avoiding the place

  • Its the nature of the echo chamber that is Lemmy. I'm over 50 and have voted in every election I could, and Bernie is the only one I ever gave any if my money to.

He could still work on how he markets his policies. No doubt probably could have stated my example better or picked something else. Better yet just not reply.

  • Where did I say that? Did you read my whole comment? Are you actively looking to argue?

I actually almost didn't reply knowing whatever I said would lead to exactly this.

Your right I'm not actively thinking about all of Bernies policies in 2024. 'tax the rich" will garner the support of the "not rich", you know the ones that don't pull the strings or have the power.

  • I think there are things he wants that he knows won't ever happen but he pushes for them anyway. Focusing on 'taxing the rich' is never going to happen (IMHO). I think, removing loop holes, and making sure everyone pays there share is a much better fight, and achieves the same results. I'm sure there are other things we're not lined up on but that one jumps out.

  • The odd bit here is that Pixel phones were not necessarily considered flagship phones. And accordingly we're priced not as flagship phones but if rumors are correct they are trying to get a flagship phone price for non flagship phone.

  • Next up, one of the most important updates for this new release from Google would be its dedicated chipset, with Pixel 9 to get the Tensor G4 SoC. However, early leaks of the Tensor G4 regarded that its benchmark test only delivered slight improvements compared to the old Tensor G3 from the Pixel 8 series, but was said to feature a new ARMv9-A core.

    Where's the punch?

  • One of the many reasons I dropped Prime in January when my annual subscription ran out. I now avoid amazon where possible, or for certain things I'll group them up until I have enough items to get free shipping and order that way.

No prime day garbage No more "oh, let me order this thing I don't really need that will get here in a few hours"

  • I both use, and bought this keyboard right after it was announced. I'd say it is not as good as gboard yet. I miss GIFs access and flip back and forth as required. I've had zero crashes on my Pixel 8P

It is my primary keyboard, and hopefully still learning, but word suggestion isn't as good (yet). FUTO voice integrated in which I was already using can be quite good. I'm using the slower version which is a little less convenient but tends to work better.

  • I'm talking about as a response to him being murdered vs. not. Didn't think i needed to explain the context of my comment.

I disagree with this completely. I believe if he had been killed his supporters would massively ramp up the division that exists now

Editing for the literal context from my original comment.
