Going entirely off memory, but the Threads user needs to manually go into their settings and turn on federation. Then your Mastodon or Lemmy server will need to not defederate with Threads. A bunch have done so preemptively out of EEE fears.
I follow Biden on Threads via Mastodon. Not that I’m any huge fan of the guy, but I like to keep up with his social media presence all the same. I see value in this integration despite so many people being so aggressively opposed. The Fediverse has very few normies. I still appreciate the ability to observe their activities from a distance.
The ~2018 models right before they switched to the M series chips have been quite cursed from my experience. Basically all the touchbar models. Seen a bunch of those fail just out of warranty the last few years. Otherwise I agree Apple has been quite reliable otherwise.
It’s not like if Trump loses his supporters suddenly go away. These people will be right back here in 2028 trying the same shit. Hyping up every election like we’re on knife’s edge is so disingenuous. Especially when the opposing candidates are completely out of touch ghouls like Clinton and Biden. Personally I’m content to sit back and watch it all burn. We’re headed down a shit trajectory no matter who’s in office. There’s no hope for a good future unless we burn it all down anyway.
He said he’d build a wall and Mexico would pay for it and that never happened either. Trump says a lot of stupid shit. It’s weird that he’s taken so seriously.
Super likes just alert the other person you swiped right without requiring a “match.” I still had to do all the talking, agree to a date, etc. When there’s like a 10 to 1 ratio of men to women on these apps, it just helps you stand out amongst the noise.
Totally anecdotal, but I met my current partner not long after subscribing to the paid tier of Tinder. Those super likes came in handy. This was like 5 years ago though not sure how different it is now. I have to imagine it’s worse just like everything else.
I’ve used Linux exclusively for years. Can’t you just turn Recall off? Or better yet, use Windows 10? It’s still supported for more than a year from now. Could probably get away with it for like 2 years if security isn’t critical for your system.
And eventually they’ll just pull the no ads version altogether.
