In my country 911 is for emergencies that require police attention, like armed robberies, etc.

Don't dare call 911 for a medical emergency or they quite plainly tell you to fuck off and call either the public healthcare phone number (which is a short (and toll-free) but completely different number), or your private provider (which is a normal phone number)

Yeah. The proper way is to hook up your phone to, and carry around, your $2500 speakers with gold plated cables or whatever.

Now seriously, I don't listen to music on the speakers because I'm mindful of other people, so I use headphones or simply don't listen to music

I've said it before, but Ctrl+Insert, Shift+Delete, and Shift+Insert for Copy, Cut, and Paste respectively, are underrated keyboard combinations

My opinion is that once someone invents a word, it exists forever, even if it's later marked as obsolete/archaic.

My point is that one of the things that gets on my nerves (and of many people that live in America, the continent, outside of the U.S.) is that USAians call their country a plain "America". United States of America doesn't sound like an actual name like e.g. Panama or Brasil, and sounds more like "we are some states in the American continent that are united"

You don't even have a name. You are just some states in (the continent of) America that just happen to be united for some reason
