  • Okey, but let's put it in another context. would you trust a British colonizer owned newspaper with its news articles exclusively being written by other white colonizers during the 80s Apartheid era south Africa ? Would you consider it to be a decent source of what's happening in South Africa and what's happening to the black population ? Heck, apartheid era south Africa wasn't even an ethno-state and wasn't doing a grand scale genocide. It's more akin to a nazi Germany newspaper.

  • Damn, so it's been discussed for years but nothing happened. Israel commit atrocities (like always ) but unlike it's other domestic media, the US government and some of its billionaires can't censor, lie and push their narrative anymore, so the youth finally see the truth about the genocidal apartheid, ethno-state that is Israel. Now, they ban tiktok.

This is just another perspective you haven't thought about, or don't want to think about because of it's morbid implications about your country (if you're from USA)

  • Easy. Don't run the python files directly but create a a launcher script that use md5 hash to check if the python file you wanna run changed and then apply the patch before actually running the patched python file. This avoid ever running the unpatched version.

  • Maybe they closed down and had to remove everything due to copyright problems/sales weren't worth having to do costumer services or something like that.

I bet it's not that uncommon either. Just yesterday, I remembered a game I saw years ago called 'green project' that was in early access at the time and wanted to check it out. so I went to look for it but it was gone despite the game still being sold on steam and being on version 1.4.2, but the last update was on 2022.

  • I was hoping for something that I could use on a mobile app.

Record then transcribe later ? But you can try https://whisper.ggerganov.com ( this runs on your browser but nothing is sent. So works even on your Android/IOS phone.) the website owner is a trusted dev that made whisper.cpp and llama.ccp, the latter basically being the backbone of the entire LLM industry.

I'm not sure what "adapting the model size" means so this might be more complicated than I'm looking for.

A bit of complexity is generally the price to pay for freedom from the constant surveillance and data gathering. Plus, It's actually super easy. Bigger model means better transcription quality, but the smaller ones are really good already. The base.en is probably all you need anyway.

On pc, you can generally try any app from github. They basically all use the same backend.

    I found a few : https://whishper.net/ https://github.com/chidiwilliams/buzz

  • It's AI and your voice won't be used for training if you use a local model.

Use Whisper stt. It run on your computer so nothing will be out. You can adapt the model size based on how powerful your computer is. The bigger the model the better at transcribing it will be.

  • Run 70b llama3 on one and have a 100% local, gpt4 level home assistant . Hook it up with coqui.Ai xttsv2 for mind baffling natural language speech (100% local too ) that can imitate anyone's voice. Now, you got yourself Jarvis from Ironman.

Edit : thought they were some kind of beast machines with 192gb ram and stuff. They're just regular middle-low tier pcs.

  • A few pictures would be great. Will it be free/ donationware or paid? Open source or closed source ?

I've been on an old version of nova launcher for several years now due to simple feature that is somehow unavailable anywhere else. When you open the search widget, it also shows a small 3 tab drawer that shows you the last 12 recently installed/updated, recently opened, and frequently opened apps. This made handling apps far easier.

  • You're making too much sense for their patriotic propaganda riddled brains. During the cold war, the media made the population fear the enemy and it's nukes. Nowadays, they instead turned it into making a complete joke of Russia , even making fun of their nukes. So, no wonder the US population think it's ok to start a war with them despite the thousands of nukes at their disposal. They think it'll be as easy as invading yet another poor middle eastern country.

  • Get off your high horses. I know Ukraine is a very sensitive subject for some but I didn't mention anything about it. We're fucking talking about not escalating it into nuclear war here. You know Ukraine, and no other country for that matter, would exists after a nuclear holocaust, right ?

Lastly, I am against colonization and invasion of any kind.
