I guess I too missed the memo that says you're supposed to outgrow everything that brought you joy as a child. I'll probably be an old geezer and still be playing videogames, watching cartoons and reading comic books.
What do you mean it isn't popular? I was under the impression that KDE was roughly as used as GNOME, maybe a little less since it's not the default in as many distros. As for why current GNOME is popular, my guess it's mostly momentum (since GNOME was already popular) but it being a very clean and polished desktop probably helps as well.
If you mean the lemmy.world defederation that's hardly bad news. The community is still there, you just need another account in another instance to see it.
While I do like the relative anonimity we have around here compared to more traditional forums I surely wouldn't complain if we had user flairs in specific communities like Reddit has.
For me it is This House Has People In It. There was a channel, I think it was Nexpo, that made a full hour video analysis on it and I'm still amazed by how much depth this has and how much effort went into it.
Speaking of old dance videos, I recently found this gem and it made me so happy I feel compelled to bring it up every time I can. I miss that Youtube, it was such a different place back then.
I wonder how long this will last. We're already seeing Apple getting some crazy performance with their M chips with integrated RAM and GPU, wouldn't surprise me if PCs start becoming less and less modular as time goes on.
It's a tropical country with great food, welcoming people and beautiful landscapes, so I can imagine a few reasons why. The laws and proneness to natural disasters are less than ideal, though.
On the other hand a bad movie with a complete lack of self-awareness can also work, as in The Room.
