  • Or you can just buy a $300 Toto washlet that has all the same features, lol.

Most of these are just luxury models that come pre installed on some designer toilet. Get a normal toilet, install a basic washlet, and enjoy the benefits of the 20th century. (yes, I'm implying that if you only use toilet paper to clean yourself that you're living a pre-20th century life. That's okay, you do you)

  • The relevant part, towards the end of the article:

Some were interrogated and tortured or otherwise ill-treated in a disused outpatient’s clinic within the grounds of Gaza City’s main al-Shifa hospital.

Sounds like they were using an empty building on hospital grounds, 9 years ago.

Like, I get what you're saying, but that still doesn't make it okay to attack the primary - and most active - hospital in the area (9 years after the fact).

Edit: But, also, holy shit fuck you Hamas, and your fucking Shariah courts.

  • I just saw it as Scott going after a girl and getting her in the end. Didn't really notice any other message at all, so I'm curious if it'll come through in the show. (haven't read the comics)

  • It's a great map, though :( but it's definitely better on bikes than carts.

  • You do if you're not in the US, lol.

  • Sure, exactly. So why do I need to install a third party CLI package manager for a first party suite of tools?

Like, xcode-select is able to grab dependencies. There's no reason why a similar binary can't be delivered with the porting sdk.

  • I guess I don't really like the idea of a large company using a tool like Homebrew, I feel at that point they should write/include their own package manager.

I might be sounding pedantic, so feel free to ignore me if you're a Homebrew fan, but it just irks me that the package manager is installed via curl'ing a shell script from their github project, and that the entire repo itself is stored on Github.

Even Microsoft has winget; dunno why a company the size of Apple can't just roll a proper, secure way to distribute packages.

Also, as far as other package managers go, there's Macports.

  • Really just repackaged Proton, with some ridiculous install requirements including fucking Homebrew.

It's not even Alpha level software right now. But, just to argue their side: it is meant as a preview for game developers to package their games with right now, and not the general public.

    Still... Fucking Homebrew.

  • Exact opposite for me - I significantly prefer Android apps.

I've had a few iPad minis over the years, as none of the similar form factor Android devices seemed all right to me - so I might get this OnePlus tablet.

Though, I am biased: I still love my old OnePlus 5 from 2016 😅

  • Looks nice - I'm happy the Android verse is finally getting tablets that can compete with the iPad (and I don't consider Samsung and its trash a competitor - unless you live in Korea)

  • Just means your homeserver will need to be running v0.19 for v2 of Voyager.

If your homeserver hasn't updated yet, don't update your PWA.

  • What does this have to do with self hosting?

  • Sure, that's fair.

However, if that's the case then I would encourage you to at least edit your above comment to indicate what you've learned - as it stands right now it still implies the discussion is about local streaming/Gamestream.

  • People are not talking about remote play, lol.

GeForce Now is a cloud streaming service - meaning the games run on Nvidia machines with all settings maxed out, and you get the output. It's great if you:

    • live close to an Nvidia data center and pay for the service
    • prefer 60 fps with all settings on high to 30 fps with all settings on low
    • want to play games that aren't supported on the deck
    • want to save space by not installing certain large games
    • want to save battery

You doing a completely separate thing and that being "good enough for you" would be like me asking for a recipe for apple pie and you responding with "well I went to McDonald's the other day and ate a pie and it was swell".

That's not what we're talking about, it doesn't help the original poster, and your experience contributes nothing to the overall discussion.

Edit: Removed some text that served no purpose other than being nasty to the above commenter. Apologies.

  • Let's not forget how the bounty hunter missions were completely broken, to the point that you couldn't even start the quest line at any point in the game. I beat the whole game wondering "what the fuck is that big area in the pause menu that's still locked?"

Also, you still can't unlock the third garden on Pyloon's roof in some saves (mainly mine).

I couldn't give less of a shit about performance bugs, but the fact that core content in the game is still locked because of fucking trigger bugs is mind bogglingly embarrassing.

Still loved the game, though - my favorite game of 2023 (not saying it was the best of 2023, I just really liked this one).

  • The other day I slept in an off position and woke up with back pain.

Body, stop. I do not consent to this.
