  • I would rather pay a little bit more for toner if it works. I am serously thinking about color laser printer when my printer stops wokring. I was looking at some brother color laser printer for around 250€ which is not a lof if this stuff works. Photo quality isn't important for me, so I thinks this could work for us.

EDIT: Also, what about scanner? Does those laser printers have an scanner option?

  • My mother is teacher and she needs to often print at home (when she is not at the school anymore). Print shop would be the best option, but we are in country side and driving almost an hour to nearest city is just not worth.

  • I am one of the user that switched over to Lemmy, just because of Sync. I heart about Lemmy when I opened Sync for Reddit in July, when it wasn't working anymore. But app showed a message, that Sync for Lemmy is comming. So I created an account on Lemmy. Regarding automatic update over old Reddit app I don't think so. I think it has different package name than Sync for Reddit.

  • 9 years on reddit. I didn't post a lot of content or comments but I read a lot. As soon as they killed 3rd party apps, I left. And switched to lemmy. I like it here. I think I already posted more comments here, than on reddit. I don't miss reddit at all.

  • There is only a limit of 100 testers in internal testing. Other channels (Closed testing, open testing and production) doesn't have any limit at all, but every update of app needs Google approval, which can take some time. Also, Google needs to approve post of the app (title, description, icons, etc...) even without uploading an app which can also take some time. Source: I'm developer (not of this app of course)

  • I didn't start using Firefox again because of privacy, but because extensions doesn't exist on chrome on Android. So I switched to Firefox on both Android and PC. Later it starts with forcing this Manifest v3 or something like that for extensions, and I was really happy I already switched to Firefox. And now even this stupid thing. I am pretty sure I will not look back at chrome again. The only downside is that Firefox on desktop doesn't support PWA out of the box (especially when I am developing PWA app on my own), but there is an extension and an app that adds support for PWA even on the desktop. And also, PWA is supported on firefox on Android, but I don't get notifications on my own PWA app, while on Chrome I am getting it every time. Notifications are on for Firefox.

  • I have made an image. One sd card already died, but it worked for a long time. It was at least readonly, and I get most of the files off (I had backup, but I wanted to get the most latest files). Movies and series are on 5TB hard drive, so I don't have to worry about that. But are usb sticks really more reliable? My friend is using home assistant and he moved data partition to usb stick, just becaues he heard usb sticks are more reliable than sd cards, but not long after that, usb stick stopped working.

  • You can force reboot phone with holding power button or all buttons for about 10 seconds and it will reboot. You don't need removable battery fot that. Or you can just remove sim for example. Thiefs aren't dumb
