  • It's not for "management positions", rather it's for management, so they can dismiss highly skilled and highly paid employees and replace them with either shitty AI or cheaper foreign outsourcing.

E.g. a top tier software engineer in NZ is paid a hell of a lot more than the equally top tier software engineer in Bangladesh... and without the "burden" of employment law.

This is just more anti-employee crap. It's set at a level high enough that the vast bulk of employees in NZ will never ever be affected.

  • Not necessarily them personally but previous generations of British colonialism really (deliberately) screwed over the indigenous people in my country in a multitude of ways.

Every descendant generation since has benefitted from that to the detriment of indigenous generations. I, and my children, benefit from it daily with superior schooling, housing, health, wealth, etc.

Even the smallest things (e.g. voting for progressive government, volunteering, learning the language and culture, advocacy) that I can do to helps mitigate some of that harm.

  • In 1974 Cyprus was divided de facto when the Turkish army occupied the northern third of the island. The Turkish Cypriots subsequently declared independence in 1983 as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus but were recognised only by Turkey. In 1985 the TRNC adopted a constitution and held its first elections. The United Nations recognises the sovereignty of the Republic of Cyprus over the entire island of Cyprus.

I've now fallen down a rabbit hole of Cypriot modern history.

  • biggest global threats

Whichever party is "in" in the US has relatively little effect on what happens outside the US.

We've all just been outright threatened with economic obliteration for the possibility of enforcing an ICC arrest warrant.

Trump's just going mask off as far as geopolitics goes.

  • Ah yes for China it's a "final warning", for Russia people "fall" out windows, North Korea's absurd perfect leader trope, and the USA's "outrage" at the rest of the civilised world.

My grandma, what good company you keep.
