  • I meant in the sense of could possibly, but I don't have a guess on how likely.

I am extrapolating on the stability thing just based on the language it's coded in, which isn't any kind of guarantee, but I think it is a good sign

  • I think you're absolutely right at the high-end, but if I have a cheaper or older machine (especially laptop) and I'm not going to play AAA games on it anyway, this driver could eventually lead to decent performance with even greater stability than the proprietary ones.

  • The only things I can come up with so far are birthdays, holidays, vacations, etc. Nothing actually specific to 2025.

I guess I'm looking forward to eventually buying a new laptop, but that's not really year specific either.

So I guess my answer is it ending. Same for the next 3 after it.

  • I've never liked this explanation because if that was all there was to it, it would still only localize to a slanted line in front of us.

Say for example the right ear is higher (I tried finding which one normally is, but couldn't find a good answer) in this case it would not be feasible without other clues to tell the difference between a sound being higher up and slightly to the left, or lower and slightly to the right. It's not a significantly different situation from the ears being the same height.

In reality there are other clues, largely based on the shape of our ears slightly changing the sound in learned ways based on the angle it comes from.

  • That's many of us in a few years.

And it's money we earned, taken out of our paychecks already.

This is simple theft, and it hurting a few more of the 'right people' now is not a good thing when it hurts all (American) people soon.
