In the UK, former Prime Minister Liz "crash the economy within 40 days off taking office" Truss proposed criminalising giving homeless people a tent.

I was appalled.

It didn't get passed, partly because her party got rid of her faster than you can say "unpopular economic mismanagement", thank goodness.

The more people that treat homeless people as valuable human beings the better the world is.

I think you're quite a few decades out of date with that opinion. The Chinese government is very worried about population decline now.

The nasty bit was telling a mother she has to have an abortion against her will.

China now has the opposite problem of a declining population, which causes problems because of the working age population is small compared to the older population, you end up running out of money so you either have to tax more heavily or abandon older folks to their fate without helping them.

The declining population problem is very common in wealthier countries.

And lower population means fewer jobs. The number of jobs that need doing in a country doesn't depend on the area of the land, it depends on the population size. The problems come when governments don't build infrastructure. If you don't build schools and hospitals and suchlike, three are fewer jobs in construction and less money going into the local economy, and schools and hospitals get crowded and do a worse job.

I use duck duck go browser as my main and default browser, and I press the burn it all button regularly. It offers to exclude sites from the data purge if you log in, but for the three or so websites that I want to stay logged in to fill time, I just use Opera for them.

And Russia already stopped bombing Ukrainian power plants because the only ones left are nuclear and even Putin is hesitant about causing Chernobyl 2.0. So the ceasefire wouldn't affect Russian activities in any way whatsoever.

The ceasefire deal Trump negotiated is such a transparent joke that he's not even mentioning it.

Putin kindly agreed to a ceasefire that applied only to energy generating facilities, except that Ukraine is the only one attacking energy infrastructure right now because Russia already destroyed all of the Ukrainian ones that aren't nuclear (and already decided not to bomb the nuclear ones, presumably because Chernobyl wasn't all that much fun for the region).

So the great ceasefire deal that weak-ass Trump negotiated? That Ukraine stops it's current attacks on Russian energy plants and Russia changes exactly NOTHING.

Trump absolutely does not stress that his grand dealmaker act doesn't work with his boss, who of course sees right through him, because he made Diaper Don, the Bully's BJ Boy the way he is.
