  • The US tried to foment division in China by funding and organizing terrorist cells in Xinjiang, and once those efforts failed, it concocted and promoted a genocide narrative.

  • And Democrats aided & abetted a genocide until they lost control of the executive branch four months ago.

  • Also, I don’t know what liberals you’re referring to. I’m a progressive.

As I’ve explained elsewhere in this post, unless you want to abolish private ownership of the means of production, you’re probably a liberal. The vast majority of both Democrats and Republicans are liberals. Progressive liberals like Bernie Sanders are still liberals. Sanders will say that It’s OK to Be Angry About Capitalism, and he’ll complain about crony capitalism and über capitalism, but he’ll never question capitalism as such. He’ll never question private ownership of the means of production, in the sanctity of private property.

Almost the only people who aren’t liberals are either socialists or fascists, and even fascists believe in capitalism just as liberals do.

  • Most Republicans also believe in those things, though they quibble with Democrats over the details. Only fascists, monarchists, etc. don’t.

  • Both Democrats and Republicans are liberals

    What?

    The first sentence from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberalism:

Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on the rights of the individual, liberty, consent of the governed, political equality, the right to private property and equality before the law.

From the first paragraph of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_property[^1]:

Private property is foundational to capitalism, an economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production and their operation for profit.

That’s what liberals believe. Liberals are those who support capitalism, which both Democrats and Republicans do.

[^1]: Not to be confused with personal property.

  • This is all the more egregious now when Russia seeks to use a false accusation of Nazism to try to justify its unconscionable ongoing brutality against the people of Ukraine.

  • Always the same map.

    1. Barbara Walters was someone else. This woman is Barbara F. Walter.
    2. A successful socialist revolution is called a “revolution”; an unsuccessful socialist revolution is called a “civil war.”
  • Usually when credit ratings fall, fixed-income security yields rise…

The 10-year Treasury bond yield has risen roughly 0.3 percentage points this month to around 4.5 percent. The 30-year Treasury yield briefly crossed 5 percent this week; the last time it did that, during some of the worst tariff fears, Mr. Trump cited the bond market among reasons he pared back his tariff proposals.

It’s a sign that the government could end up paying a higher interest rate on its debt if it can’t soothe investors’ concerns over its mounting debt, a development that could snowball into a full-blown debt crisis for the world’s largest economy.

Moody’s announced the downgrade just before bond markets closed on Friday, so investors will have to wait until Sunday to respond.

  • Definitionally in IEEE floating point, NaN is not equal to anything, including itself. The only real abomination here is B:
