  • Just mass-report the Discord server I guess.

  • This reads like the dystopia in which every piece of software got replaces by a proprietary web application by some evil mega corp. What you need is at least a mail client and a word processor.

  • I once did a kernel benchmark using various schedulers in different games and the performance differences were negligible.

    1. No, the reverse proxy should be running in your home network and redirects queries it gets on the usual http(s) ports to your applications.
    2. No, you just need a DynDNS service which provides you with a basic domain like myfancyserver.dyndnsprovider.com.
  • Don't expect to be entertained. Engage with people and they will engage with you.

  • You just need uBlock. The other add-ons are redundant.

  • Deezloader is still a thing and pretty comfy.

  • Crypto is still a huge scam and waste of energy without any actual use-case, regardless of any privacy-issues!

  • In Switzerland you get unlimited 10 Gbit/s for 50 bucks.

  • Now I get your point, sorry. You can use both Timeshift and BackInTime as snapshot tools, but also configure them to create snapshots on a different drive, making it an actual backup.

I for example use Timeshift in Rsync mode for that reason even though I'm also using Btrfs, which Timeshift supports, but only for non-backup snapshots.

Sorry for the confusion, I guess when suggesting both those tools one always has to specify that you need to save snapshots on a secondary drive for it to be a backup.

  • Timeshift for system files, Backintime for user data.

  • Don't think so, it links to the statement by thehatedone, right?

  • I'm quite amazed that the majority of people here simply take Madison's allegations seriously and don't pull the usual misogynistic bullshit.

  • No, Flexo is not like Unattended Upgrades. Flexo just downloads packages in a cache for you to download them locally using pacman as usual. It's mainly to increase download speeds and decrease doubledownloadsing the same files in one network to different clients. Unattended Upgrades is actually installing security updates automatically without user input. This is by design not supported and not possible on Arch Linux.

  • I made an install script for encrypted Btrfs Arch Linux, systemd-boot and KDE Plasma in case you want to have a look. gitlab.com/dataprolet/arch
