  • A company that only exists on government subsidies and it's spin off, a company he bought and installed himself as "founder" of, a company that his company was acquired by and quickly sunsetted, and a company he's trying to compete with? Yeah, I'd say he's a fraud.

  • A kilo of fent is fucking nuts and it's the current boogeyman for US police. Cops lie about fentanyl constantly, I'm going to take this with a grain of salt until there's more reporting. A kilo of heroin with some fent cut in makes way more sense.

  • Going by the Wikipedia first paragraph definition any two items mixed together can be a salad.

A salad is a dish consisting of mixed ingredients, frequently vegetables. They are typically served chilled or at room temperature, though some can be served warm. Condiments and salad dressings, which exist in a variety of flavors, are often used to enhance a salad.

  • Where does this meme say Stalin did nothing wrong?

  • As someone who has been through many relevant struggle sessions, I agree with everything except for the cold brew recipe.

  • The US is not prosecuting the US owners of the ship.

If it was only technically a "Chinese ship" in that a Chinese equity firm temporarily owned the ship and they used that as an excuse to seize the cargo and prosecute the foreign operator, that would also be wrong.

  • It's an entirely different scenario and even then it would depend on where the guns are coming from and where they're going. There has so be some limit on what countries can do on the international stage.

  • According to the replies and down votes I got the other day, this is either fine because the shipping company plead guilty or is fine because some US private equity technically temporarily owned the ship.

  • And all of those people in the past who were "really into trains"

  • It's also getting towards the end of the summer there when it gets humid.

  • No. A LA based private equity company technically owned the boat at the time of transfer (they do not own it anymore, it's been sold to the Greek company). That US based company is seemingly off Scott free in this situation and the Greek company is the one being fined and sanctioned.

  • Yeah, we just stole a million barrels of oil and people in this thread are acting like we would have been wrong not to.

  • They plead guilty to violating the IEEPA, which is a law we passed that says if we declare an emergency we can regulate whatever international commerce we feel like. The US being being wealthy enough that companies choose to comply so they can still have our business doesn't make it right.

  • It's wild that there aren't any FOSS Tetris games for Android that have been updated this decade.

  • You want the United States to arrest someone in Greece for transporting oil from Iran to China? I don't see how it's any of our fucking business.

  • Fuck, you caught me. Guess it's time to sell all my Marxist literature to some gullible college kid so I can buy the nicest grill at Lowe's and embrace my inner centrist.

  • The edgey atheists in every possible thread really gives lemmy that old Reddit feeling.
