I know some schools in my country use their own linux distribution on pair with windows. And my organization has also their own linux distribution but it is barely used really. I dont know anyone who uses it, but I do know it exists.

Afaik it can, buy not this way.

I'm not mathmatician but I got explained once that there are "levels" of Infinity, and some can be larger than others, but this case is supposed to be the same level.

At least the regulation show us how shady internet is. That banner only shows up if the website is going to use cookies to use your data as a way to make profit. The fact that every website is doing that was eye opening for a lot of people.

It should be just a browser option.

You set cookies on or off, ans the browser sends the option in the headers. Websites just need to take the option from the header instead of a banner.

There're few games that work like that. Many use the steam basic drm, making the game not launching if a valid steam session is not running.

Worse thing about snaps is that the server that provides them is propietary and owned by canonical.

Open source people tend not to like when things are not open source.

Other than that they are like flakpacks but blessed by canonical. Sometimes they are more curated or there's more official releases on snaps that flakpacks.

Both are a way to deliver software without falling in dependency hell and kind of isolated and more secure(?).

Also is a way to wait 10-15 seconds to launch a simple app so there's that.

Where I live in europe, IT people usually hace salaries between 30.000 and 80.000. And it is considered a pretty good salary.

I tend to buy stuff I've already pirated.

I have games bought with 0 hours played because I already played them with my pirate hat.

When you are a pirate you have a different mindset. You get to really choose who do you want to give your money to, and you tend to chose people who really deserve it.

Seems great, if they achieve the same security standards as a private company I don't see why we cannot have public CAs.

In the EU by next year app communication protocols need to be compatible by law, it is mainly said that it would mean that whatsapp could communicate with telegram but I suppose it also should work with signal.

I use thunderbird, though it really feels like it has terrible performance for me. Feels like a really heavy program for just an email client.

Still better than having ads on your client.

It's like no longer having one cheap and convinient way of seeing content makes people rather pirate things than paying 7 different platforms each one more expensive than the next and all of them trying to mess with you and your wallet in new and unexpected ways.

You can just use Jellyfin which is open source.

Sometimes they are more convenient, than cd ls mv cp everything, when you don't have access to a file explorer.

Specially if you are working with a server via ssh, or some machine without any Desktop Environment installed.
