  • In Spain we already have that.

There is an app that let you show only some data of your national ID and it's verifiable by the other party. One of their usecases is specifically age verification. The app shows that the user is over 18 or under 18 and the portrait. There is a qr that can be used for instant verification.

But signing is kind of different. For signing you need an unique id.

I signed this petition with the digital certificate. It really never asked me for much more data. But the digital certificate includes full name, country and national ID number. But I suppose that's the minimum needed for a valid signature.

  • Title seems misleading.

As the micro plastics were found on the paint outside the bottle cap. It seems complicate that that ended on the drink itself. Unless you are licking the bottle cap it doesn't seem that relevant.

  • I'm certain that tinder straight up doesn't show your profile around if you are male presenting and don't pay.

I have a female friend who also had tinder and we did a test. I set mine in men looking for women, free account both of us. I got her profile pretty soon, she never got my profile as an option.

  • It depends.

Those apps rely a lot on your physical appearance, and how good you look in a photograph.

And if you are interested in dating women you'll have a harder time than if you try to date men.

As a bisexual person every time I open a dating app I have hundreds of likes from men, and barely one or two from women.

Also be aware that experiences for people 10 years ago are not valid now. Enshitificacion have also take it's tool from dating apps, and experience is way worse than it used to. Last time I opened one I didn't even got a match in months (until I deleted it). So you would have to mentally prepare for that possibility and keep your self esteem up despite of that.

  • So... Are there any cryptocurrencies that the owners hold in mass and are trying to get profit by selling them to users in a "pay to win" system?

Last time I checked bot IPFS and plebbit had those... Which is why I steered away from those projects.

  • They have their uses. For instance the other day I needed to read some assembly and decompiled C, you know how fun that can be. LLM proved quite good at translating it to english. And really speed up the process.

Writing it back wasn't that good though, just good enough to point in a direction but I still ended up writing the patcher mostly by myself.

  • I love my privacy. And I would never give up encryption.

But I'm not naive not lying, I know that privacy can also be used by criminals to do crime while avoiding prosecution by law enforcement. Not every crime is morally wrong, but many are.

It would be dishonest for my part saying that without privacy it wouldn't be easier for law enforcement to detain certain criminals. But that doesn't erase that without privacy law enforcement could also take morally right criminals. A d without privacy other bad actors also have an easier time getting you.

My best take is that is a complex matter, but without downplaying the fact that not all privacy is used by good people, overall having privacy is a good thing.

And being realistic 100% privacy would never be achieved and that level of privacy maybe it's not desirable. In the sense that with 100% privacy anything you do could be trazable to you without your consent no matter what, which mean that you could do really nasty things without repercussions. But with a great level of privacy it's more plausible that the greater resources that law enforcement would need to disclose your actions would more likely be used in nasty crimes more than in other things. But, then again. It's a complex issue, it has a lot of grays and I don't think it can be oversimplified in a dogma.
