  • Tell me one thing.

Is that much better to find out that your husband is leaving you for other person by his word before it happens rather than a time after it happened by yourself?

For my understanding most of the pain comes not for the lie, but for the fact that the people you love no longer loves you back and it's leaving you. And you cannot force love or cohabitation to anyone.

  • Isn't there already a mobile app?

Developers can focus on whatever they seem appropriate.

But I think content discover and community (lack of) are the biggest issues of peertube right now.

I hop once in a while to the main peertube site and I can never find anything remotely interesting to watch. There may be some good content, but it's impossible to find.

  • We read left to right.

Hour left makes sense as hour is very important to know, many times for important than the minutes.

With dates year is usually not that important to know, and day/month became much more important to know in a daily basis. So they get a preference.

For instance, a doctor gives you an appointment on 2025-07-25. The first thing you read is 2025, which os not very important as the day and month, as you could already assume the day. A date on 25-07-2025 gives you important information sooner.

  • What you see is due to file corruption. The bits are not readable.

What you need can be done. You need a script that takes the video and purposely encrypt part of the data. Here you need to know the file format so you know what tou can encrypt.

The it's just a matter to run the script to encrypt and decrypt your video as needed.

Depending of the amount of security you require take into consideration that knowing that part of the video was purposely encrypted it's easy. Decryption of that part would depend on the strength of your algorithm and your key.

You should also take into account that depending on how the video is compressed (most videos are compressed, raw video takes too much space) you may not be able to cut with much precision the point in witch you want the video to stop being legible, depending of the type of compression it may have a few seconds of video each type which share the same data.

  • There's not video format I know that has embedded encryption, total or partial. Neither I know any video players that would expect the user to introduce a password mid video.

So it's doable but you would probably need to do it all yourself.

Easiest way would really divide the video into multiple parts, the ones you want encrypted and the ones you do not. Then encrypt the files in general and call for decryption before attempting to play the encrypted parts with some external ui element.

  • In not particular order, and a kind reminder that I'm not from US so some things may look different if you are from there:

People are far noisier, as there is less concerns by being judged by your neighbors. People used to behave purely out of shame. Now the shame is gone and people are wild.

Vast increase in dog ownership. There's literally more dog than small kids in my country from several years now.

Vast increase in immigration. Statistics are weird here, as we give citizenship to a great amount of migrants in just two years, and here is illegal to record statistics based on ethnicity, country of origin or any aspect that would identify anyone's ancestry. But my neighborhood went to 90-10 national-immigrant to 40-60. I live in a poor neighborhood so it's not the same in all parts of the country, but immigration increase is there and it's a big change.

Less violence overall. Street violence overall seems lower. Also there's less of a terrorists threat as we used to have (there were several active terrorists groups here that are now gone).

A housing problem. People used to get a house without issues. Now it's one of the biggest issues of young people.

Increase of tolerance towards homosexuality. It's view as something very normal nowadays I think, and it use not to be that way.

Increase of equality between men and women. Direct discrimination is completely outlaw and hard to see. Indirect discrimination may still exist but is on a all time low. Most bosses I have had in all my jobs have been women (for giving a small example).

People go on vacation more often and further away. When I was young people used to just go one time a year on vacation, most of the time to a national place. Now people go several times a year to foreign countries, and "travel" have become the most important thing in many people's lives (how many dating profiles have I seen in which the person pointed traveling as their life moto).

Most people have university studies. It didn't used to be that way.

There's probably much more. Those are the first things that came into my mind.

  • Author response:

Lena juggles lesson plans, bedtime stories, and plot twists—sometimes all in the same day. A teacher by day, a writer by night, and a mom 24/7, she crafts paranormal romances with magic, mystery, and just the right amount of chaos. When she’s not wrangling students or characters, she’s probably drinking coffee and pretending it’s a potion for extra energy.

    Hi everyone,

I want to openly and sincerely address something that’s come to light regarding my book. A prompt was recently found in the text. It's something that should never have made it into the final version. I want to apologize deeply to my readers and to the writing community.

The truth is, I used AI to help edit and shape parts of the book. As a full-time teacher and mom, I simply can't afford a professional editor, and I turned to AI as a tool to help refine my writing. Teaching wages make it hard enough to support a family, and writing has been a passion project I pursued in the small pockets of time I could find. My goal was always to entertain, not to mislead.

That said, the appearance of an editing prompt in the final book was a mistake — one that I take full responsibility for. It has unintentionally sparked a broader conversation about AI in creative work, and I understand the concerns. I’m taking this seriously and will be reviewing the book carefully, making corrections where needed, and being more transparent in the future about my process.

To my readers: thank you for your support, your honesty, and your patience. I’m learning from this and will do better. To the wider community: I'm sorry.

Big "I'm a mom everything I do is excused because my motherhood" vibes.

All her books seems to be free on digital format and just about $3 on printed paper, and doesn't seem like even for free, a lot of people read it. So it's not like a big scam or something, I doubt she really makes any money with this.
