  • Blows my mind how many conservatives think net neutrality is a bad thing just because the TV told them it's bad.

None of them can even tell me what the hell net neutrality even is.

  • I wish I was kidding! My school district wasn't too bright.

  • They told me in high school that the electoral college was still necessary because counting the popular vote was too hard...

  • Thunder. I often get an error saying it's unable to find the post to comment to. ReddPlanet doesn't work anymore thanks to spez.

  • I like Thunder, since it is the most like ReddPlanet, the app I was using as my main when the APIcalypse happened, but I run into issues trying to reply to comments.

  • Every single time anyone brings up Biden's problems, the response is downvotes and "Doesn't matter because Trump exists." And I'm sure you've heard the mantra of "Vote blue no matter who!"

  • And the rich have the rest of us bickering amongst ourselves about Team Red vs. Team Blue, and social media exacerbated this. News flash, if any of them actually cared, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Team Red has their side blaming immigrants and liberals for everything, while Team Blue has their side convinced that everybody on Team Blue is infallible just because Team Red exists.

  • Apple's cases have been trash for a while now. I made the mistake of buying one for my iPhone 11 in 2019, and it started chipping at the corners immediately after I bought it, without me even dropping it.

  • Are you sure about that? Telling people that they won't catch or spread covid once they got the first two shots isn't harmful? Because we now know that the vaccines don't actually prevent catching or spreading covid.

All I'm seeing here is that because Trump exists, Biden is automatically innocent of any wrongdoing. This binary view of politics is the real problem with this country.

  • Being a lesser level of bullshit doesn't mean it's not bullshit. Biden gave people a false sense of security by shooting off his mouth and rambling about stuff he does not understand. Just because Trump's a bigger liar doesn't excuse Biden.

  • So true. I have no idea where most modern Christian dogma even comes from.

  • Yeah we all know it's just an excuse to trample over other people's rights while feeling holier than thou. More people have been killed in the name of God than for any other reason, after all.

  • It's Christianity. They believe getting an abortion is murder and being gay or trans is a sin. Because conservatives want to live like it's 1950. It's bullshit.

  • Chrome runs like garbage compared to Firefox, and this has always been the case for me. I didn't make the switch in 2008. I also had a bad feeling that Chrome would become the new IE with every other browser ditching their own rendering engine and basing on Chromium.

People back then said it was OK because Chromium is ostensibly open-source. Look where that got us. Surprise, it's still controlled by Google!

  • That song is spot on. They've successfully turned the people against each other to the point where anyone who criticizes the side they picked gets written off as a nazi.

  • I just love how they try to trick you into paying for shipping even if they're like "Congratulations! Your order qualifies for free shipping!"

  • Depends. Unless you're on Ubuntu or Elementary, Flatpak and Snap are optional. When I'm on Arch, btw, I don't bother with any of those and just use the AUR with a helper like yay.

But I find the convenience of Flathub too good to pass up on other distros. I have been using Linux long enough to remember when the only options if your distro didn't ship something were to compile from source or to use a sketchy installer script, because Flatpak didn't exist. And as others mentioned, if you're using a full desktop environment, it likely can update everything at once via the GUI.
