  • I have a System76 Kudu from 2018. I won't buy anything from them again, honestly. It was overpriced for what it was, and the screen is awful. And it still has features that only work on Windows 10. Not at all what I expected from a company that claims to be Linux-first.

  • Yeah except that the spammers already have blue checkmarks. They're already paying.

  • Ain't that the truth. As it stands now, I get called either a Nazi or a Libtard depending on who I'm talking to. It's frustrating. Both sides will accept mediocrity as long as the other side doesn't win.

  • That would be nice if the instance wasn't always overloaded. Ended up blocking the Piped link bot because of it.

  • And this is why I keep saying the political binary is the real issue with this country.

  • Elon simps are already going "lol $1 i literally paid more than that for my coffee"

  • Using the latest Plasma Wayland on Arch, btw. They don't work on any other distro I've tried either. My System76 supports gestures on Windows 10.

  • I feel bad for him, really I do. And I'm sorry to hear your story as well.

I'm just frustrated that Biden is the best we can do against Trump now, and nobody seems to care because he's not Trump. We need to do better than this, but every time I bring up the Democrats' shortcomings, the response I get is always "Doesn't matter because Trump exists!" or they assume I'm a Trump supporter.

I'm afraid that now that Trump exists, Democrats are just going to stop trying to do anything like universal healthcare. Hell, they couldn't even be bothered to codify Roe.

  • I'm not willing to switch to GNOME. Having to install a bunch of extensions to get a halfway usable experience that the GNOME devs can and will break on a whim isn't my cup of tea.

  • I'm on the latest KDE Wayland on Arch and don't have any of these.

  • I'm using the latest Plasma on Wayland on Arch and NONE of those gestures work!!

    I am NOT using x11!!

  • Better trackpad support on KDE on Wayland. I use multi-finger gestures all the time on my MacBook, and my System76 laptop supports them on Windows, but the only gesture that works on Linux is two-finger scrolling.

  • I wish Wayland had support for multi-finger gestures. I know my System76 laptop's trackpad supports them on Windows, but Windows is trash. I use them all the time on my Mac, but I just use a mouse on Linux.

  • Yes, along with wobbly and exploding windows!

  • Yeah and Sanders dropped out and we got fucking Biden. And people defend Biden because he's not Trump. Nothing's going to change now that Trump took over the Republican party, because why the fuck should Democrats try to do better? All that matters to voters is that Democrats are not Trump.

  • You're probably right, but it definitely seems like the majority of Linux users are still buying Nvidia.

  • When I last had an Nvidia GPU (secondhand PC), I discovered that the drivers came with altered versions of a lot of the 3D rendering libs. Those drivers are a cancer.

  • I really wish Linux hardware companies would stop selling Nvidia, and that Linux users would stop buying Nvidia. They don't care about us.

EDIT: Yes I know people with Nvidia switch to Linux with existing hardware. That's not what I'm getting at and I hope those people choose their next GPU wisely.

  • Yes, even though a lot of my opinions are considered controversial here. On Reddit, unless you sort by newest posts, you're going to get buried in the comments section.
