Even if nobody used ads, ads just don't work anymore. Kids can't even percieve them anymore, old people who click on everything are a shrinking market segment, and most people in the middle seek to learn about market offerings from influencers they've chosen to trust.

There are many considerations where the fault lines should be. Somethings absolutely need upstream support and cannot just be buffered.. for example payment processing.

If the AI knows that a solution is available then it will think there's no reason not to use it. This is a demonstration of the morality of Nukes existing. If they exist someone will decide that they're the best solution to a problem.
Literally why is this necessary on a technical level. I'm a web developer, whenever I need my JavaScript to access a resource I have to spell out where to find it. I've never had a need to scan the browser or the system to make shit happen so why should I be able to in the first place.
The whole point of side loading apps is to not need the app store. One of the most important features of an app store is to distribute and update apps. Storage and bandwidth isn't free, but it is quite cheap.
I'm sorry if it hurts apples feelings when we tell them they're not allowed to charge for every aspect of their hardware. But if they didn't want us to own our iPhones then they shouldn't have sold them.
