  • You put normal monthly expenses on the credit card, then you immediately pay it off. Do this for a while and build your credit score. Use your higher credit score to get approved for loans/mortgages/bigger credit.

All credit is is a way to buy something expensive that you can't afford right now. Figure out what you want to buy, then build the necessary credit to be approved for the big purchase.

  • Canada my guy. We can go to the doctor, but many people do not have a family doctor to go to. You can go to the hospital for free, but assuming the hospital is open (brain drain means closed hospitals) you'll be triaged and if you aren't actively dying, you'll have to wait literally 24 hours to be looked at. That's where "Universal Coverage" ends. My employer covers my dental, vision, pharmacare, mental health, and physio. If I lost my job, my girlfriend and I would be fucked. Not sure why I was downvoted. People mad at my reporting the facts for some reason.

  • If nothing else, this terrible unnecessary war has shown the West's cognitive dissonance.

Hardcore right wing people generally hate Jewish people, unless the Jewish people are fighting Muslim people, then it's "Jewish people have the right to self-determination!"

People on the left generally do not hate any specific ethnic group, however, we have a long history of criticizing Israel for their apartheid. Being met with the furor of everyone else calling us anti-semites is nothing new, but never has it come so forcefully from so many people all at once.

Moderates in the center aren't speaking out at all for fear of being called anti-semitic, maintaining international relations with a nuclear power, and secretly hoping that this takes attention away from the climate crisis so we can keep going business as usual in favor of the ruling class.

More important than the cognitive dissonance though, is the fact that everyone in the West believes their opinion is the best and will solve everything.

  • Skyrim. After 200 hours, you start becoming really aware of the "seams" and the clunkiness of the Creation Engine. Although, while you're still working your way through the quests, and every stat isn't at 100 yet, it's pure pure pure bliss. To have that original feeling back. Gah!

  • It's not a suffering Olympics. Yes, the history is tumultuous, and yes, the State of Israel has more than likely caused way more suffering to Palestinians than Hamas has to Israelis. But that's besides the point. The point is, civilians on both sides are now paying the price. No one wants to get shot at or bombed, and support for either side's civilian population is NOT tacit support of the militants of the opposite side.
