I think I get the argument, and I’m not going to defend fascists, but if a fascist comes to a Star Trek community to discuss Star Trek, cool. If they come there to talk about how awesome fascism is, seeya. If the mods of a community want to ban people for their views that have not been shared in the Star Trek community they run, that’s bs. If the content is on topic, nobody should be getting banned.
Often when tenants lose keys to a deadbolt, a shady landlord or superintendent will say the knob lock is “good enough” to avoid paying to have the deadbolt replaced. Consequently, tenants might install their own deadbolts.
You might ask, why not just replace the existing lock!? Well, the super is going to call a locksmith to do that, and the locksmith can charge more for installing a new lock rather than replacing the old one. Plus, an extra lock when everyone’s is home for the evening == extra security.
That this fascist is so close to being elected at all, especially given that we’ve already seen him “do the job” once, means this country has already failed any such test. At this point, someone like Trump getting elected again is only a matter of time.
Seriously it took a criminally long time for Rudy to see this particular, well deserved, consequence to his actions. I think he’s still licensed to practice somewhere, though.
It’s almost like he’s not a serious candidate. One that, instead, is in this only in this to enrich himself, and maybe avoid the consequences of his previous illegal behavior. Like, I don’t know, they’ve been hoodwinked by a con-man. I mean, that can’t be it, can it?
Every now and then, one of them says something so batshit that I think they must be testing the limits of their con. Like eventually some of their sheep will cognitively process one of these nuggets and say, “hang on a second…”
Reminds me of an old Miller Hugh Life commercial I loved. Showed an old guy watering his lawn by hand with nothing but a hose while looking at his neighbor’s new SUV (when they were getting popular). A really overthought “solution” that could’ve only come from a room of politicians. I mean, your made-up “equity election” didn’t work, so you have another set of elected officials further remove selection of this powerful, even then, position from the people instead of just failing back to the popular count.
