Maybe historically your statement would be true. But, I strongly feel that what we're going through right now is completely different.

You can't say that inflation isn't caused by corporate greed when companies are making huge windfall profits after the pandemic on basic necessities like food and medication. This is 100% greed. In some other markets, prices became high because of high demand and low output due to supply chain issues during the pandemic, like for construction materials or computer chips, but these problems have been resolved since then and yet, companies still charge the same high price.

Yes, pumping money into the economy has had some effect, and I believe they are planning on raising taxes to correct this, but they're going to tax the workers instead of taxing companies who benefited from this relief in the end. Without that money being injected, people wouldn't have spent anything. And it's not like people could save this money. They had to spend it to survive.

Yes. It's my meditation moment. I don't have to think about anything other than my posture and movement. I just put on the music I like and go. It also helps relieve tension and frustration when something bad happens during your day. And I feel great afterwards. That post-workout high is real.

Back in the day, in the 90's we used to have this TV box called Videoway in Québec, Canada. It was provided by Videotron. The box had some entertainment features on it, including games. One of the games was loved by everyone and when the Videoway was discontinued, people became very nostalgic and asked Videotron to release an emulator of some kind with the same set of software. But, the company doesn't want to spend money on that unless it's profitable, unfortunately.

That's why piracy is the only workaround right now. I understand this goes against the law, but how else are we going to archive this software when the media it's on fails over time?

That's why piracy is so important in the video game field. While the hardware in old video game cartridges expire, rom files don't.

I'm always looking for good boomer shooters. They're much easier to pick up and play. Not to mention the nostalgia factor.

I get your point and it's very valid.

However, it's still a big distraction. Smart phones are purposefully programmed to distract, get your attention and keep it. With all the apps that send push notifications making your phone buzz every minute, it's hard to focus on anything else. I leave mine in "do not disturb" mode to stop getting distracted all the time, and even then I still see the god damn things pup up on screen and will change my attention from my work to my phone.

I really don't think they have their place in the classroom just for that reason alone.

In that case there should be some time dedicated to that topic.

Otherwise, they have all that technology in hand as soon as classes finish. The younger generations are all born with tablets and smartphones in their hands.

I'm really not worried about them learning how they work.

Heck, we had a PC at home and I learned how to use DOS as soon as I learned how to read just so I could play games.
