  • On the other hand, journalists are among the most informed and aware professionals out there, and these endorsements are part of their editorials, not part of their factual articles. By making an endorsement, the editorials board is sharing a perspective, and perhaps that should be a lens through which to understand their reporting. That's up to the individual reader - on that note however, I'm concerned about how blurry readers have become on news articles vs. opinions. Fox News has been the vanguard on that, and the rest of the internet was quick to follow.

Nevertheless, I think sharing an editorial perspective as a news organization is better than Supreme Court Justices pretending to be unbiased during their Senate confirmation hearings.

  • Yep, and if I remember correctly there are two more season to come :-(

The original series runs didn't have that many "topical" episode plots. That's become the go-to for the new seasons, and some of the topics are already too old to be topical in the way South Park has pulled off. Initial run topical episodes I can think of:

    • A sort of Titanic parody
    • Iron Chef parody
    • Kidnappster, I guess

And I think those were still very light connections to current events and more parodies, compared to eyePhone, cryptocurrency, NFTs, fast fashion, antivax…

The VAs have been aging, too, and I feel like their hearts aren't in it either. I'm going to assume this is a cash grab -- Disney is good at extracting as much value out of IP in the short term; from their perspective, there's only upside to cranking out some more Futurama.

  • TAS can be considered its own competitive speedrun genre, with its own players trying to optimize and reduce times further and further. As far as I know, very few games have reached a point of being definitively 100% TAS optimized.

Additionally, TAS often is the incubator for ideas and tech that human speedrunners can adapt for their own use, too.

  • What a legend. Take some well-deserved time for yourself.

Is it cheap for me to pick "Dancing Mad" from FF6. It's just so epic, and it feels like it so accurately represents Kefka's madness together with the seriousness and impossibility of what our heroes are setting out to do.

  • I mean, several of the Walgreens (Duane Reades) in midtown Manhattan where I live have put locks on freezer cases, men's grooming products, and more. Why would I go to those locations to buy things? And if I'm not going to buy stuff there, I'm not going to have my prescriptions sent there, either.

Be hostile to your customers (who want to give you money, because yes 2am Ben & Jerry's happens and I'll pay a lot for it), and we'll go elsewhere.

  • "I thought he would talk longer," she said. "However, I still will vote for him. I think he’s a very good candidate. … The concert was great."

Apparently watching someone stand on stage for 30 minutes while recorded music plays is...a concert?
