  • It seems impossible to share these facts without being told (and even feeling myself) like I'm saying there's a Jewish conspiracy to control the media. And I know that isn't accurate, but it feels close enough to that.

  • The thing is he could do nothing, and then tell his supporters, "I did it! I deported all the bad guys!" And they would cheer and say, "Wow everything is better now. We love Trump."

When you've convinced the people of a fake problem you can just give them a fake solution. "I scared away the monster under your bed."

  • Mostly yes: In a sense, doing anything "permanently and forever" is a big deal. People can change and grow, and a full permanent ban without any opportunity for appeal seems harsh. Very few things should warrant a permaban: one example that comes to mind is willfully attempting to circumvent a temporary ban. Posting spam, too.

Also no: Lemmy isn't and shouldn't be a critical part of anyone's life. If you were forever banned from it, maybe it's okay.

  • Nah nothing that cool. A megacorp that has so much influence that it doesn't need a military of its own. It knows everything it needs to about everyone, can sway public opinion as it wishes, and will continue to enmesh itself into every aspect of private and public life. It produces no products. We are the products, and we are the consumers.

And it's already here: Google, Meta, whatever Elon Musk is doing idk.

  • The GameCube in a cool color (like Spice Orange). Not just because I like orange. It has great contrast with the grey and black parts of the console. And the whole thing is wrapped up in a tidy, aptly-named package!
