It's like having a discord 'server'. Nothing gets actually talked about, noteworthy stuffs are hidden beyond layers of clunky mobile UI and everyone's phone numbers are leaked in the process.

Like any other web services, Google can see the public ip your personal invidious instance is using to access youtube servers. The local 192.168.x.x ip are for internal access.

Many films and tv programs survive only thanks to a total stranger keeping their own copy. For a long term survival of any media it has to be copied and distributed far and wide.
