  • Sounds like that may be a locale issue, I haven't seen anything remotely maga (and some leftist stuff, by which I mean there is at least one person who gives away the garden goodies, which is not something I'd think of as a right wing option).

Or maybe my area is the weird one, I dont know.

  • Yup, just two good hits for me, and I have to get different hardware. It was more or less cobbled together using hw I had with a different purpose I temp set up to try it.

I'm thinking of getting a T-Deck, and maybe repurposing a pi zero I have to be a relay (which would improve reception around town rather than relying on the relay in the neighboring city)

Maybe a meshtastic to matrix relay, or using a public mqtt broker or something for this sort of information to be distributed? Considering the information here, meshtastic seems a great fit.

  • Oh I knew she wouldn't notice it. And if she did, I would have just proposed then.

She's wonderfully oblivious to some things (and still is, which makes it still so much fun to do with birthday presents and such for her)

  • The engagement ring I bought lived on a shelf in the living room for a few months waiting for the trip I intended to propose during.

My wife had no idea. It was hilarious to show her pictures I took of her looking at things on the shelf and not noticing, like picking out a movie and just completely missing the big wooden ring box.

Which i guess is a long way of saying I love this game!

  • I've also found a small butane lighter works wonders, depending on what its stuck to of course.

Thankfully these jackasses are nowhere near where I live, its mostly other garbage, just not blatantly hateful like this.

  • Depends on what you're looking for in a server tbh. And there are others who would probably be more familiar than me.

db0 (instance I'm on) is great for F/LOSS, piracy, anarchism/leftists, lemm.ee for a generalist instance, blahaj for a fantastic queer community and firmly moderated safe space, etc.

You can export where youre subscribed, but your history won't move. So feel free to just make an account somewhere if it piques your interest, and go from there

Edit: Somehow missed a solid 2/3 of what I was saying about db0

  • I don't do drm'd content, its all coming from JF so ive got random assortments in various parts of my home. An apple TV, a roku, a regular chromecast, a Chromecast with google TV dongle, and a lenovo m90q with a launcher running arch/KDE.

  • Just to note this is also direction from the admin team on .world. Until significant push back, jury nullification wasn't permitted to be mentioned (despite precedence of its legality), as well as a rule to allow all opinions, regardless of the rules of the community. This was also pushed back on, and will be back after they re-word it.

    This is .world at large.

    Edit: typo

  • Mostly equitable.

Ive had a slightly higher failure rate with the Dells, but the sample size is too small to be relevant.

The Lenovos more often than others ive found outfitted with a dGPU which comes in handy in some scenarios, but I think that comes down more on which enterprises more often purchase Lenovos and want the dGPU, and that its just what ive come across in the used/decommissioned territory.

Short answer - they are basically all the same.

  • Just add dell micro to the list and you have what I run - 9 tiny/mini/micro PCs run everything here. Though I may move a few things to a VPS soon.

    Edit:

    • (4) Dell Micros
    • (3) Lenovo Tinys
    • (2) HP Minis
