  • Are you sure about that?

Lol yes. Its a relay with a secondary control via mqtt with intermittent status reporting.

it also probably means your lights all turn on after a power outage since the light can’t tell the difference between power outage and light switch flipped off.

    Not how that works.

  • They sure are trying to.

    https://www.flhouse.gov/Sections/Bills/billsdetail.aspx?BillId=81923

    Some highlights:

    • Working before 6:30 a.m. or after 11 p.m. when school is scheduled the following day
    • Working for more than eight hours in a day when school is scheduled the following day (except on holidays or Sundays)
    • Working more than 30 hours in any one week while school is in session (though this can be waived by a parent or school superintendent)
    • On any school day, 16- and 17-year-olds who aren’t in a career education program may not be employed during school hours
    • Working more than eight hours in a day without a 30-minute break
  • I'm perfectly fine with enabling a connection, just not requiring one.

For example - my lights are automated. They have a switch though. If they went offline (or my server does), I can press the entirely local switch and have light.

As a reminder though, 418 is supposed to be the response for requests of the teapot to brew coffee.

  • Appreciate the clarification, and have to agree that noting their affiliation being necessary does suck. Its been necessary for a few decades now though, the extremes may be more extreme but the pattern itself I don't think has changed.

  • Ive never heard of BDS, thanks for mentioning it.

    bdsmovement.net is them, correct?

As far as the rest goes, I think I've been clear that I am supporting an action. Just like of a hard right wing jackass were to speak about dropping any and all support of Israel and their genocide, I would be supportive of the action said jackass was taking. I would still hate them for what they've done, but I won't boo them while they are doing the right thing.

Take the approach you want for yourself, I will continue to support good (or better described here, preventing bad I guess?) actions being taken.

  • .... Or do both, and break your own record?

I dont know about you, but I prefer something to nothing. And I will continue to support anyone being against what Trump is doing. So I'm not going to disparage him for this. I have plenty of things to complain about with Booker. This isn't one of them.

To each their own I guess.

  • But why not wait to filibuster an actual policy as both a protest against the admin itself

Because then theyd be waiting rather than doing? Because this isnt a filibuster, but they can still actually filibuster should something come up?

Because one does not preclude the other?

    • Everything being done by the republicans is atrocious.
    • Trump isn't going for legislation, he's just signing executive orders.
    • Having someone visibly stand up, draw attention, and say "this isn't OK" is something some people need to hear, especially to get them to support and/or join in protest.

Sure you could complain that it isn't enough. And by itself, it isn't.

    It still isn't nothing.
