Completely agree on the security guarantees by UK and US and that it's fucked up they weren't upheld. When repeating Russia's talking points you should also point out that they're BS though. Who cares whether Russia wants that or not, Ukraine is a sovereign state and they can make their own decisions, just like other former UDSSR states.

It wasn't the case before Trump. What NATO push? Any country is free to decide what alliance it wants to belong to, Russia does not get to decide what its sovereign neighbouring states do.

Please don't dump Europe and the US together in this context. Neither of them has done as much as it should, I agree with you, but Europe has not turned any of its military aid into loans and it's not extorting Ukraine for its natural resources now. I think something like Twitter hinges on people/organisations being there that are popular for whatever reason. Many people engage with those people's posts and react to each other. Since there aren't many such people on Mastodon, there isn't as much activity.

Lobbyists aren't inherently bad. The problem is lack of transparency and controls. Without effective controls of course a corporation with millions to spend will always have the upper hand over some NGO that lobbies for the common good.

That's wrong, first of all it's the central bank that controls money supply, which is independent from the government. In addition, even if the government could magically create all the money it needs to pay its debt, without borrowing more, it would completely devalue the dollar.
