I know a lot of organizations do so, but not as a home user.
I have had to do so professionally due to some old yet expensive equipment that only output to software that only runs on 98 or XP, but those machines are not allowed on any networks, not even local ones.
Actually not sure if XP can even use a modern enough browser to access most of the web.
I guess I get nostalgia, but "simplicity" makes no sense. They are objectively more complicated than a modern candybar style phone, while being less durable and harder to carry.
Your paying a big premium for plaid-speed gen 5 ssds, but from what I can the board only has one gen 5 nmve slot, the other 3 are capped at gen 4.
Max gen 4 speed is way below the throughput of those drives (7,880 vs 12,400), so that seems like kind of a waste. You could go with the equivalent gen 4 drives and save about $500.
