  • This does not mean that Google is making Android a closed-source platform, but rather that the open-source aspect will only be released when a new branch is released to AOSP with those changes, including when new full versions or maintenance releases are finished.

Just to avoid confusion, here the relevant quote from the article.

  • Although the term "zero-day" initially referred to the time since the vendor had become aware of the vulnerability […]

Yes, this is the original definition that made sense. It doesn’t make sense to me that this definition apparently has been adjusted to include all unpatched vulnerabilities.

  • What annoys me is that this multi billion dollar company is apprently unable/unwilling to keep even very obvious scams from their platform.

One "scam" I see from time to time is to have cheap items with clearly overpriced shipping cost. Amazon, why don't you block sellers who try to trick your customers?

  • Thanks, I hate it. Maybe we could just measure shoe size in centimeters, not in different units that mean different things on each site of the border - and even for men and women.

    But still, unironically, thank you.

  • I don't think this is a very strong reason. Anyone can create a new lemmy server and use "your" username. But the post/comment history would be an easy proof who is the "real" user.
