  • Forgot to address your final point my apologies. Here is one of many pictures that can be found of Jews purchasing the land https://i.imgur.com/5fYx5Ud.jpg

What you said about the British stealing it may be true but why place the blame on Jews? The man in that picture doesn’t look British. They bought the land with money they saved up for to flee extermination in Europe.

  • This entire argument was spawned because a commenter pointed out that no, Israel is not going to let a group that effortlessly blends in with the civilian population into their country. Thank you for at least addressing my points. A lot of this comes down to who do you trust? I really don’t trust either side personally, but from all the research I’ve done I’ve found mountains of evidences of intense hatred of Jews in this region long before WWII. I’ve found mountains of evidence pointing towards the land being bought legally prior to the 1948 declaration of war. If you are interested I can provide multiple sources for you about it. I don’t have an agenda and I’d like to see a ceasefire. I just want people to be informed.

  • This is a country teaching young children that all Jews must be exterminated. Not Israelis, Jews. This country is ran by a group who openly call for the extermination of all Jews and are willing to hide in areas designated for civilians for protection. Everything I have said is fact and I can prove to you easily. Why then, are you talking down to someone providing more evidence and context? Israel said they targeted these area because Hamas leaders were hiding there. What Israeli leaders were hiding at the rave on oct. 7th? Why are you so hostile to anyone providing nuance to this conflict? I see you constantly belittling anyone who tries to provide explanations for Israel’s motives. The guy you were talking down to didn’t even say anything pro Israel, he just offered their explanation. Instead of being an asshole to people that go against your narrative, how about you provide them with proof that they are wrong??

  • If they spent just a fraction of their time reading a book about the region rather than screeching about the current conflict I think they’d be singing a different tune. I have found exactly one instance of Palestinian expulsion prior to the Arab nations declaration of war in 1948. The Deir Yassin massacre, which if you actually read the Wikipedia article on it, it provides evidence of the majority of Jews condemning the attack and even some helping the Palestinians. The person responsible for the attack even said he was told by his commanding officer that civilians were not to be harmed. All land acquisition prior to 1948 was legal. I can provide mounds and mounds of evidence proving it. You can condemn modern day Israel without parroting antisemitic lies.

  • Been doing a deep dive on this conflict for the past few weeks and I don’t think you’ll find many unbiased summaries. A lot of people have said good things about this book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11961982-side-by-side

Tells the Palestinian narrative on the left hand side, and the Israeli narrative on the right hand side.

  • Toldry, I have spent the past week doing serious research into the Israel/Palestine conflict. I have looked at pro Palestine arguments as well as pro Israel arguments along with third party sources and cross referenced timelines of events and quotes from key players from the 1800s til now. I can safely say both sides are terrible and there’s a lot more than meets the eye going on right now. Thank you for providing nuance and level headedness in a time when people are increasingly feeling pressured to pick a side. Remember people, you can condemn both hamas and Israel. Both have done dirty things to each other from the beginning and both have engaged in deception so often that I feel there is truly no good guy in this situation.

  • It is so easy to say this when you’re not the one dealing with it. Per the article it seems they had stayed at a shelter for 2 months and were told to leave for another shelter and that transportation would be planned out for them. We allowed them in and are providing them transportation. This is all being paid for by tax payer money. The world is not black and white and money doesn’t just appear out of thin air. This is a complex issue. At the end of the day they wanted to escape a bad area and we let them in. If this upsets you that much, why not offer to house a migrant family?
