I don't think its Europeans being jealous but instead that Lemmy attracts the kind of Users who are more anti western/capitalistic (and the US is literally the definition of capitalism) and also users being dickheads about it. Just because Americans have to live and participate in a system that's quite shit, that doesn't mean that they are directly responsible for it and I think that this is something a lot of people forget.

Sorry to inform you, but this has already happened. Some police departments have an account and do ultra cringe marketing on there. Than we have our Nazi party AfD spitting bullshit and hatred and then other parties who also do some cringe shit.

We can also ban the far right AfD. The law allows it and almost everyone who knows enough about the German law supports it saying that it has good chances to be successful, but still nothing happens. It has been over one year since we got probably the biggest protests since the reunification of Germany, they happened after reports of members of the AfD being part of a meeting where they planned mass deportations, and no political party gave a damn about it.

There are multiple ways to say "I don't care" (which is what the expression stated means). You can say "Juckt?" Which is very informal and basically means "is it itching?" Or you could also say "das geht mir am Arsch vorbei" which means something like "its going next to my ass" (I don't really know how to translate it in a better way, but it means, that said thing is passing your ass)

These mails probably were sent automatically without checking how much the artists owed. So it isn't really that they need that money but that they just sent this to everyone.

China has a one party political system. This means, that there is no opposition. All members that may get elected to any position are picked by the CCP. All elections must adhere to the ruling of the CCP. The ruling of the CCP is part of the Chinese constitution.

This doesn't sound the slightest like a free democratic election. Also you have to take into Account, that The CCP controls everything, including propaganda. I havent found that much about manipulated elections in china(search engines suck nowadays), but will look into it later too.

That thread is fucking depressing. Glad I blocked that instance. Also the tankies are, as usually, trying to defend the CCP because they have 95% approval rates in their rigged elections, so the people, according to them, support the government, and at the same time stating that the Chinese youth is more progressive and opposes the government actions.
