  • Jill still likes to pretend that she's not funded by Republican donors to siphon off Democrat votes.

I'd love for the Green party (and others) to be an actual viable alternative, but until they are a third party national office vote means almost nothing.

  • And before someone jumps in with the tired ass " Obama had all three and didn't codify Roe v Wade" argument, he was blocked by the more conservative members of his own party. Dems need not only a super majority, they need a super majority that can't be hampered by a couple of holdouts.

  • That was "earlier this summer". There was a lot of chatter about it here and I assume on other more left learning corners of social media, but it really only started hitting the traditional news outlets in the last month or so.

  • Is it really a criticism though? There's nothing of merit to it. I could see criticizing the pick based on Walz's views (though I'd probably argue against that too; Walz has a pretty stellar record).

He's basically the same age as Harris, so the "old" portion of the criticism is right out the window. What we're left with is that he's a white man, which is always what the VP pick was going to be. The unfortunate truth in this country is that a lot of voters are not ready to support a presidential ticket with two women or people of color.
