These laws are fine until something better than c comes out. Then we have to wait for laws to be updated to make changes. We all know how slow government moves.
I expect things to get cheaper over time as the company learns how to run more efficiently and use new technologies to lower running costs. It never happens, but I always expect it to.
This seems so ridiculous. I'm coming from a privacy perspective. I'm using a number of extensions that block as many trackers as possible. Now I may have to give that up just so someone can "attest" to my identity. I'll have to forgo my privacy, otherwise I can't use the web.
Alright, thanks. I'll look around. I don't have a problem with it if that's why they chose ml, I just want to know for sure before I told anyone that. Some people get up in arms about socialism.
I want lemmy to have a hacker news mentality on posts and comments. Only post something if it will help continue a discussion. In the beginning that's mostly what it was and it was great. Now it's turning into Reddit V2. If that's what people want then it's fine, I just thought it'd be more like old Reddit where we only upvote content that added to a discussion.
Not really. I've been styling my home screen for years. I use kwgt, klwp, and icon sets to create a custom look. It's what I enjoy doing, so no I don't think doing something you like requires you to question anything.
Yeah, everyone here acts like reddit is going down. Im assuming Reddit barely registered that any users left. If you go check out r/all nothing has changed.
I've used root or unlocked devices for years and have never had an issue with throttling or a portal. I use a hotspot on my laptop weekly.
