  • Yeah that's in 11 years I think lol. Still though the point stands

  • Well you're a dumbass if you can't understand this lol. What the fuck does the American Civil War have to do with this? Nobody forced the slavers to make a separate country. Meanwhile the US forced the south of Korea to set up a government and refuse any discussion with the rest of Korea. You can define invasion however you want but it's nonsense to define how you're trying other "governments tm" being how you define it

  • Honestly just read Liberalism: a counter History. I lost my soft spot once I realized his philosophical underpinnings weren't any better, he just happened to be positioned in material reality in a way where shitty stuff had small good effects. Critical support was a good idea for him in that time, because he happened to represent a force aligned against the greatest oppressors of the most revolutionary class (the enslaved). But now that he already won, critical support means you can throw him away and realize it was only s tactical correct choice, not any good outside of that

  • Lol if joking. If not, I'm sorry but you severely misunderstood what is happening here

  • Not unless we were directly in the center of it, in which case everything would seem to move away from us. But even then, if I'm not mistaken, physicists and astronomers have also proven that other objects are also moving away from one another too.

We can tell how something is moving based on the shift of its light, like the Doppler effect. The further something is the more its light is shifted, which was how we came to know this phenomenon in general of increasing size of space between all things.

  • Comrades, Google has failed to give any useful information because of enshittification. Anybody know how to have a different working language between excel and word? I know VBA and all excel-associated commands in english but my work is in a different language. I type/work in that other language all the time except for in excel where I forget how to do the fuckin sum command. But changing the working langauge makes it a shitshow with spellcheck and several other issues. I'm tired of that BS. Any advice?

  • Atrocity propaganda is a real phenomenon used by westerners to inflate problems of non-western societies and deflate the genocides done by the west. You've fallen for it

  • They mean Chinese apologists from the west.

I for one am not apologizing for much of anything really. Mistakes have been made but the party has grown from that and critiques those. None of these are what these anti-chinese people are saying though

  • Also I'm an engineer too, but I have no idea why you think those connect here tbh . And you dont ascribe your position as political ideology because you swim in yours and can't see it. I see yours clearly and am forced to constantly confront my own with interactions outside of my framework

  • So liberalism as a philosophy is a complex topic, but it's one I indulge in often from an outside perspective (and we are forced to regardless of our desires, because it dominate global discussions). But what I was claiming, and what you unintentionally upheld in your comment, is that liberalism mistakes stated values for a limited group for the total fulfillment of those values. When Americans preach free speech, they don't think about it in terms of any real thing they can say or do which will ever make a difference. Valuing "human rights" means valuing those who oppose the stated enemies above those who oppose the state itself. It's because liberals base the philosophy in how the self (cogito, daarin, etc.) as an individual thinks outside of any context of society around them. It allows one to focus primarily on stated intentions rather than real effects

Liberals in history have made these mistakes over and over, and I don't believe and refuse to believe it's just naivety. It's because it works to support the status quo that so many come to the conclusion that this dynamic is correct, that values are primary and not the reflections of tje society. If it dkdntd maintain the status quo then it wouldn't be believed. This is again the same argument in form, where I don't think the way liberals see themselves has any primary position, but what matters is how their framing of the world influences it.

  • But we all know none of this is written in policies, which is why I'm asking for any sort of proof of follow-up on the tens of thousands of cases by American soldiers. Or any proof of a policy which is upheld by the American government. I can probably point to some CIA documents about the topic from Abu ghraib or such as explicitly done. But the major problem is that this poster believes in such things as "policies" as existing outside of the material existence of the actions, which is a super liberal viewpoint and which communists need to learn to rebut. America also has "policies" about addressing homelessness but homelessness is endemic and worsening.

I also don't believe they can prove anything about Russian cases being more widespread or tolerated

  • Provide any proof of these claims. I will likely dismiss what you provide if you do, but I promise to give good reason and dive deep into the sources first

  • The larger point here being not some whataboutism, but a counter-claim to Russia doing any such thing systematically. The deaths of civilians is always wrong but inevitable in war, but any claim that it's any more systematic in this war than in others needs to be able to reckon with this huge difference in scale. I don't believe the original person claiming this about Russia can achieve that

  • Damn, gonna have to make a new account somewhere to keep up the attack then. LGB-without-T folks gotta be attacked into correctness

  • Someone can't get past liberal definitionalism and thinks that the goal of LGBT+ alliances are based on necessary and sufficient conditions ("attraction, specific, others don't count" claims) instead of understanding the goal of opposing a line of oppression everywhere it reaches. The way homophobia works is very similar to transphobia, so the fight is perfect to combine. Put the oppressors all on the wall because this chain of phobias will only change focus if you don't end it at the root.

Then we have the gay fascists who want to just put others on the wall using similar oppression to appease their own oppressors. It's the same function as fascists at the geographical edge of the imperialist/fascistic expropriation border.

Saying this for the people listening not to you, turtle power. You're an asshole and only shame can possibly make you reconsider your assholery

  • How are you doing that except for voting for Biden? The class conscious workers who aren't succeeding in spreading that are the ones at fault, like me (and you, though I'm not convinced of you being class conscious). I'm trying my best though, in many organizations around many topics, to push my analysis further and improve it and the organizations to reach the goals of socialism.

  • But they aren't really swayed, they are playing the good guys to prevent riots. The role they fill, regardless of how any democrat personally feels, is the role of the small concession to prevent riot. It's super helpful to capitalism to have a tiny outlet so that the major exploitation is ignored. It's only "better" when you obsess with the short term goals and can't see the projects over decades and across borders. Sometimes I get it, honestly, like I am never mad at comrades voting for the hope that trans and indigenous comrades aren't genocided. But it's just not good strategy to think about that decision for more than like 4 minutes a year because of the above stated functional argument.

  • We came to the conclusions because we want to avoid giving up. Once you realize that settling for "harm reduction" is also a form of giving up, you learn to think strategically and read people who think strategically about these things for real improvement. Like Lenin.

  • But also you changed the subject, I know that capitalists hated Stalin but I love him for that. Has nothing to do with the facts I stated, because Obama literally did worse than Nazino island in Libya lol, but he's not a dictator because the way libs use the word is meaningless
