  • Yeah! I love the series. Those wild cockatoo are beautiful.

  • I know right! I hate that so much new tech needs an app and will lose functionality/stop working if the company stop supporting it or you phone stop working with the app.

  • The app is ios only and you need to buy hepa bags every week for it. Those kind of kill it for me.

  • That is kind of what you get when you buy super processed foods. If you want to save money you have to buy low processed foods. For example, you can get a 3lb bag of apples ($5), 5 cans of beans ($5), 2lb carrots ($2), 5 lbs Potatoes ($5) for the same price.

  • Alright, I did some brief research into this because I have just been talking out my ass this whole time. I think the crux of the issues is that the affected Iphones basically have a battery deign flaw and can not supply the current the Iphones needs at peak power after a year or so of degradation. It seems apple should have recalled the phones and fixed the flaw. But instead they band-aid fixed it with software and changed how the phone work fundamentally and hoped no one would call them out.

  • I think if your changing something very fundamental then you should give the user some way to opt out of it. It's not necessary for example, a security patch (that doesn't meaningfully impact performance) or a new feature because users can just not use them. In the battery gate case, the performance of device impacts everything you do on it.

  • I agree that it's a good feature but my problem is apple doing is secretly and without giving the users the ability opt in or out of it. A company should not be able to change how something you own works with out your consent.

  • I really love Darktable.

  • Supposedly Orange Pi is working on some.

  • Good, this happened to me! I had my phone in the cup holder of my car while driving down a dirt road and bumps pressed the power enough to make it emergency call 911. It scared the shit out of me cause the phone also starting make a horrible alarm/siren sound.

  • I love video. So cool. The songs great too.

  • As a person who enjoys clean air I approve of this.

  • I wonder if part of the reason is that apple deprecated opengl on mac os and replaced it with their property graphics api Metal. I image it would be a lot of work to port the source the engine to Metal just for a small amount of users.

  • That makes sense. This tree is right before some mining equipment from the 1800s and a small mine. Maybe it was the miners.

  • That is amazing lol!

  • The Catalina Mountains in Tucson AZ. Also known as Mt. Lemmon

  • It's still in use... by the pack rats. I don't know how they build nests out of cholla cactus and survive.
