  • I have not de-federated other instances simply because lemdro.id is not vulnerable to this particular exploit

  • Hey everyone, this exploit was present in the custom emoji feature of Lemmy. Because lemdro.id does not use custom emojis, we are not vulnerable at this time.

  • When I visited Japan earlier this year, I was surprised with how common Google Pixels seemed to be. Interesting that data backs up my subjective experience!

  • oh no, they noticed. Shhhh... admin testing comment latency..

  • test comment please ignore

  • Not trying to argue any points but one of the good parts of running on lemdro.id is the Android community has a close connection with the admin(s) (me!). So it would be trivial to remove a mod if it came to it vs having to coordinate with already busy lemmy.world admins. My personal goal when starting lemdro.id was to help spread out the load so that federation can continue to flourish as Lemmy grows. As well as being a more focused instance to cater to the needs of technical communities.

  • Edit: A fix has been deployed, and federation should work now. Unfortunately, kbin.social is taking its sweet time federating with us, it is probably overloaded. Lemdro.id is already accessible from other kbin instances such as fedia.io (https://fedia.io/m/android@lemdro.id)

Hello! Admin here at lemdro.id. This is the result of several problems in the lemmy default reference nginx config. I am working on resolving this right now and should have it fixed within the next 30 minutes!

  • Sounds like this may be indicative of the Tensor G3 not being significantly more efficient which is kind of disappointing
