I don't think that's what a bad deal is. I make decisions based on what is a good deal for me and things I care about.
With YT Premium for $10/mo I get:
support unlimited amount of creators based on watch time
no ads
YT Music (which is pretty good imo)
Support infrastructure behind service
Without YT Premium for $10/mo I get:
support 10 creators directly
ads (or constantly fight battle to block them)
Now, I fully agree that removing features that were previously paid is a dick move, but those aren't why I have YT Premium anyways. I just don't think it is an objectively "bad" deal
Alright, can you elaborate on these ways? You could support a particular creator via Patreon, or by buying their merch, sure. What if somebody you've never watched before releases a very good video that you stumble upon and watch? What if you don't have the financial resources to be a part of dozens of separate patreons?
As far as I'm concerned, YT Premium is the best way for me to support all of the creators behind the videos I watch. For me, I also like YT Music so this ends up being a pretty good deal overall
That is strange, I've had the opposite experience. YouTube's mixes are great and interesting, and being able to pick from "familiar" and "discover" in your queue to instantly pick out different music rocks. Also the discover mix can be nice
honestly, I think YouTube music is kind of been on a roll lately with changes. I know some people were against the comment section being at it for songs, but I love it
Default install and I no longer enjoy tinkering with a device I rely on so heavily these days. I am sensitive to things slowing down and I tend to find combinations that cause them pretty often.
We're gonna have to agree to disagree then. I don't play games and currently use a Pixel 6 Pro. I occasionally feel this phone bog down and I am not a particularly heavy user. If I'm loading an intense website while streaming music and then I go to check my email I can see a few frames dropped from its 120Hz refresh rate. If I experience this with a flagship a couple of years old, I can't image the Fairphone would fare any better
This has not been my experience. I can usually tell when my phone bogs down loading an intense website or switching between 3 apps after a couple years. If I want my phone to last a long time and I want to enjoy using it I've found that it's best to start with a device that is as powerful as possible.
that was awesome
