  • I’d probably like Sw/Sh then. Silver (and its remake) and Emerald are my personal favourites, though honestly Gen 1-6 are all great imo

  • I played all the Pokémon games religiously, several times each all the way until they put them on the switch. I don’t own a switch so I’ve only played until ORAS USUM. How are the newer ones? I’ve heard mixed things

  • You’re welcome! Bi-weekly did quite well, hopefully we get lots of discussion weekly

  • Oh really? Huh. I’m also in Canada and haven’t heard of any of them other than Dairy Queen. Weird. Alright I take back my comment then, other than still believing that A&W is great here

  • Most of those other places aren’t available in Canada. Also, Canadian A&W is independent from American A&W so maybe their food is a bit different too. Canadian A&W is great

  • I love Celeste! I sucked at it too but still managed to beat it anyway. If I can do it, you can too. Have fun with it! It’s an awesome game

  • Might be my favourite game of all time. It’s got tight competition but it’s definitely top 3

  • I know a dog named Willow. Nothing more fun than to go to their house and excitedly say “Hello Willow!” over and over again. It’s so much fun to say

  • I’m undecided. I’d consider Dark Souls III, Elden Ring, and Sekiro to be my 3 favourite games ever and I have no idea what order I’d put them in. I love both the open world and linear worlds

  • No problem! If we’ve still got lots of activity for a few of these posts I’ll try weekly

  • If you’ve ever watched the YouTube channel OutsideXbox and their sister channel OutsideXtra, one of the hosts is a massive fan of the game and it picked up a bit of traction from there I believe. If you go to the steam reviews for it, at least one time it used to have a bunch of reviews saying “Ellen was right”, “Ellen brought me here”, etc.

  • I played it for a bit about a year after it first came out and thought it was fun but it didn’t grab me. Lately I’ve been watching a lot of sci-fi movies and have an itch to try cyberpunk again. I’m glad to hear it runs well, that gives me hope

  • I’ll try biweekly and see how it goes. If I get a lot of responses I’ll try weekly

  • I’m going as Joe/Manco/Blondie from the Dollars trilogy. My girlfriend was originally going to go as cowboy (cowgirl?) Barbie but that might be changing now

  • Oh man, Genichiro is one of my favourite fights. Have you figured out how to do a lightning reversal yet? It’s pretty important for the lightning phase, and the game does a pretty poor job at explaining it

  • Enjoy! I wish I could play it for the first time again. How far have you made it so far?

  • Is it your first time playing it? Sekiro is probably my favourite game of all time but it’s definitely not beginner-friendly. The steep learning curve is pretty intense but so worth it when it clicks!

  • I have so many games in my steam backlog at this point that I really need to get through, maybe I should try your method of setting time constraints. I usually just end up replaying the same few games over and over again, but maybe if I had a time constraint to worry about I’d get through my backlog finally

  • I don’t know rogue-lites too well, but I know Hollow Knight quite well, and I know Sekiro very, very well. Hollow Knight is the best 2D game I’ve ever played, and I think it’s worth at least checking out. The music, the art, the atmosphere, everything is really well done. For less than $10 it’s worth trying for 2 hours and if you don’t like it you can always refund it.

As for Sekiro, I think it’s got the best gameplay of any game ever. That being said, it has a very steep learning curve. Eventually the game will click, but until then it’ll be incredibly frustrating and very difficult. Once you get past that though it’ll feel amazing to play. Every one of my friends gave up on it before it clicked for them so there is definitely some risk but I truly believe if you push through until it clicks you’ll find it incredibly rewarding and satisfying to play.
