Every time I click a Reddit link now it’s just “download the app to verify your age” regardless of what it is

I know it’s an overgeneralization, but that does seem like the one job that needs a forced exit when a presidential candidate is shot on your watch…

Maybe the reason Elon broke every part of Twitter was just so he has plausible deniability while he meddles with everything and desperately tries to get his name in every discussion.

I still don’t understand how the buzzword of AI 10x’d all these valuations, when it’s always either: a) exactly what they’ve been doing before, now with a fancy new name b) deliberately shoehorning AI in, in ways with no practical benefit

The entire reason I loved Splitgate was the simplicity and lack of classes…

Pessimistically, I don’t see how the system gets better without full collapse.

I love the idea of useful and improved AI-automations, based on the fact every site currently has a “customer service robot” that have never once helped with a resolution at all.

IMO it can eliminate a huge amount of support queries and leave the important stuff to the actual agent if done right. …with the caveat of yeah fuck AI if it’s fully instead of agents.

It’s disgusting how many times I’ll catch myself opening an app I closed less than 2 minutes ago because I was bored.

I love the duality of all the genuinely thought-provoking conversations on tech/news communities, and then all the humour just being 2010 9GAG.

The majority of the ads I get on Twitter now are deepfaked Elon shilling coins — I don’t know how any advertiser (or user) could have any faith in that platform anymore.

IMO it’s one thing if you posted things publicly on the internet and it’s getting scraped, in the same way a human would find it.

But it’s disgusting when all these companies retroactively update their TOS, or force you into zero privacy to continue using their service.

I will say, I don’t know what they’ve done but it’s been fucking up my casual circumvention nicely. Now I just get forced into almost 10 minutes of ads every time, and the ad bars shows up underneath videos, the end cards at the wrong time…

It’s insane how many people already take AI as more capable/accurate than other medium. I’m not against AI, but I’m definitely against how much of a bubble of being worshipped that some people have it in.

I feel like Apple is much less threatening as a monopoly than a loooot of other companies..?
