We're like a family here

  • It's never going to be the year of the Linux phone until there's one that actually has specs to do the things the majority of people want

Thus far, all the Linux phones I've seen had laughable specs. There's the Liberux NEXX, but it's still at the concept stage

  • It's called DNS tunneling it's typically used for data exfiltration tactics, but it's also great if you're desperate to punch through even the toughest paid WiFi paywalls to Google something really quick slow because you fucked something up on your phone lmao

    https://dmachard.github.io/posts/0047-dns-tunneling-overview/

  • Piefed has gone from being rarely if ever even mentioned at all to, in just the last few days, being mentioned hundreds if not thousands of times a day in threads on virtually any topic, makes me highly suspicious.

You make interesting points, but for this specific thing, it almost certainly has to do with the .ee shutdown which was announced just a few days ago, apparently PieFed has fantastic comm transfer tooling so that's why it's probably been exploding in discussions since .ee has a number of large comms that are trying to figure out their next steps

  • Can confirm, used DNS proxying to bypass cruise ship WiFi paywall once. It worked, but god damn did it send me into dialup flashback lmao

  • False, Thanos is far more respectable than the POS that is Muskytat

  • Yea, one of the very few things I've gone back for, to push Lemmy on it LMAO

I also respond to all join requests for my 2-years-private subreddit r/SuddenlySpongeBob with a forwarding link to !suddenlyspongebob@lemmy.cafe LOLOL

  • Damn kids these days, thinking they're invincible and shit and don't need the IKEA Safety String™ or the IKEA buddy system

THIS is what happens when you don't listen to basic safety lectures

  • If you don't want to keep it that's fine, but if you have any recordings of commercial media (like say VHS tape recordings of broadcast TV) it would be of major help and contribution if you at least go through what you have and see if any of it is !lostmedia@lemmy.world

You'd be surprised at the things people are looking for, from old TV ads to TV channel interstitials and Bumpers to TV show episodes that aired once and was pulled, lost and never shown again

  • This is crossposted

  • Lol I presented reasoning, documentation and evidence, and your response....was to call me 'obsessed' and lob a mildly sexist joke.

Meh 4/10 defender response LMAO 😂 have a nice day!

  • Lol I will, just remember to spread the message to boycott posting/commenting/voting on .ml comms. That will go a long way towards it!

  • Lmao you gotta do the shitpost/sarcasm tag "/s" text is notoriously difficult to tell if someone is just "playing around" or being serious the shorter it is 😂

Especially because I actually run into that kind of mentality unironically fairly frequently

  • For one, there shouldn't be a requirement for a poster to also constantly reply to all replies. It's cool when it happens, and I do it myself from time to time when I have the energy to do so

All contributions to the Lemmy-verse, no matter how small or how many replies the OP does, are welcome. It's important to attracting more users

For 2, by "select few" I mean as in something that actually contributes to the convo rather than just replying for the sake of replying because that's how you end up with super generic replies that nowadays people wonder if it's an LLM writing it

  • Got damn, is that like that every morning for you, or do you just not open your inbox LMAO 😂

  • Officially, I just try to avoid replying just for the sake of replying.

Unofficially, there may or may not be an illemmyminati
