Years ago, our eldest when 2ish got up in his crib from a nap, stood there facing a blank wall and just started...."talking" (Real words/babble mixture) to someone. And it wasn't the "talking to myself" type baby talk either, it was the "I'm talking to someone" type of baby talk. Sent shivers down me and my SOs spines.

Don't let her find this post (I never told her I went digging or what I found lol) but there was a suicide in that house in its past soooo.....

Unfortunately/fortunately we moved out of that house not to long afterwards

Then you spearhead some movement to try to get people to not donate to Lemmy development at all, making it harder for these people who are trying to make Lemmy their life's work to be able to even survive.

Because they use the .ml instance and it's influence as being associated as the "Official Dev Instance" to push their Tankie "ideology", to include spreading dangerous misinformation and propaganda

They could solve it almost overnight by turning over .ml to a new as fair and unbiased as possible admin team. As was also brought up in those donations threads. In fact to paraphrase another user: "Devs should do dev work and not mod work and admins/mods should do mod work and not dev work".

As was brought up in those threads, but it's simply not good enough, it's just paying for .ml with extra steps (e.g. through their pay/salary rather than directly funding hosting costs)

I won't be giving a penny to them until I see some major changes in regards to .ml as so many people called for on every other version of the donation thread that wasn't .ml

Hate to burst your bubble, but we are at a point where our technology can save us from extinction on every event short of a sudden space event that wipes out all life, like a gamma ray burst stripping the atmosphere.

It'll be a mere fraction of current population levels, maybe not even a million depending on the severity of the event, but far from extinction. Only a few hundred survivors are needed for sufficient genetic diversity to repopulate

On top of that, words can have multiple meanings that are dependent on context.
